We know now (with near 90% certainty) that the Master Chief is the IsoDidact. Or, Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting. The prevailing theory is that he has a geas of the IsoDidact. (Kind of like his soul/imprint). Anyway,
…I haven’t read the third Forerunner novel yet, but apparently only the IsoDidact is able to unlock Mendicant Bias if he’s ever needed? Correct me if I’m wrong (I know I shouldn’t be speculating when I haven’t read the whole series yet).
> HALOPEDIA page on Mendicant Bias: It was decided to keep the ancilla alive as it had intimate knowledge of the Flood and could be called upon in case of their return. Mendicant was locked in eternal exile and entombed beneath a vast desert on the Ark with only one thought allowed to it: atonement.
117 (the IsoDidact) has arrived at an Ark (not sure- as I haven’t read the end book- if it’s the lesser or greater ark he’s buried in) to speak with Mendicant Bias.
Perhaps to get Cortana back?
To help with a Flood outbreak?
Another reason? Does it have anything to do with the Janus Key
I definitely think Medicant Bias with 90% certainty will be in Halo 5, on the Arc most likely where Chief is, as seen in the previous E3 trailer. Still not comfirmed so who knows.
Now your first spoiler, along with myself and I know a few others, disagree with that theory and how it’s used thinking the Chief has a forerunner genesong, or whatever. I personally just don’t see it being forerunner as the Isodidact never died as far as we know and just left the galaxy after the firing of the rings With a few other forerunners.

Oh, I didn’t know this. Maybe what happened to Bornstellar and the other Forerunners will be brought up at some stage (maybe even in Halo 5: G?)
The other thing which bothered me…in Halo 3, the monitor says to the chief: “You ARE Forerunner”. This always puzzled me. I thought this may have been further evidence indicating he has an imprint of the IsoDidact.
And finally, why, if Forerunners built all the Halo’s, are humans (their enemies) the reclaimers chosen to activate the Halo rings? Is it because it was theorized they would be controllers of the mantle at some point, and would be left to activate them if necessary?

Ya that phrase from Halo 3 and guilty spark was related 1 to Bungie’s issues with Lore. 2. 343 wanting to go off and make forerunners a full on different species. 3. Because Guilty spark at that time was going in or has been experiencing Rampancy.
And those old forerunners, IMO won’t be shown really ever again, or at least not in a game anytime soon. Just out of the picture now is all, maybe even started a new civilization in a different galaxy, they could be long dead by now and considered ancestors. But that’s just my opinion on that.
And yes, the reason for some, not all humans, being able to use forerunner tech are the humans who were given a genesong or whatever that is by the Librarian when she was seeding Earth before she was killed by the flood/ring firing. `edit there’
So what us fans have figured out is only the humans who can use the tech have a genesong of most likely ancient humanity. It’s part of the genetic code Halsey was trying to find ad the “perfect” specimen for a Spartan 2. So it’s safe to say they all have one, even though Halsey at the time didn’t know exactly what it meant. Of course other characters have this too like Johnson and many Others.
Some others could explain it better, I probably missed a few details here.
I believe Halo: G will be about MC trying to locate Mendicant Bias in order to combat said threat to the colony worlds (probably Flood again). I feel as though that voice we heard in Chief’s head during H4’s campaign was not the Ur-Didact’s but the genesong of the Iso-Didact. The Iso-Didact will be assisting the Master Chief with finding Mendicant Bias on the Ark.
Also we will get to play as Locke to hunt down MC and fight Jul’s Covenant along with Arby because fighting the Covenant is a staple in Halo.
Hopefully by the time Escalation’s story arc with the Janus Key resolves itself, we will have, or be close to obtaining the Janus Key in order to locate the remaining Forerunner devices located throughout the galaxy (to help combat the Flood’s impending arrival).
Any other prevailing ideas/ take these ideas a step further?
I’m not sure he will be in halo 5. I WANT him to but it might just be mendicant bias in the back ground of the campaign kinda like halo 3. I’m setting my expectations of mendicant bias showing up low. That way if he is in halo 5 ill be supper stoked.

Thanks man, helpful info. We should have Halo discussions once a month!

Of course. Where Master Chief is going may not have any Covies, so this makes sense.
Also, do you think Master Chief’s story arc will be a flashback-type story to tell us what Chief has been up to, and Locke is finding 117 in the present time?
I think that would be awesome and really bring out truth in the Halo universe. He is really A creepy A.I kinda. I think it would be great if he, and the flood are in halo 5.
In the end i think that bias is the eagle looking gaurdian in the trailer. When the didact locked him away he said that he would not be destroyed but would be awoken when he was needed to save the galaxy and bias was sorry for his mistakes. He was locked under a desert in a large metal tomb to resemble a bird like figure. So in the trailer this bird like tomb awakens and comes out from a desert to speak witht the master chief. The theory of the isodidact being in mc is most likely true since only the isodidact could access bias’ tomb which mc does. so to sum this all up. Bias will be in halo5 :G and he is in the gaurdian which is bias’ tomb which mc awakens with isodidacts geas in the desert to fight whatevr the enemy is in the next few games. Not known but hopin to be precursors or forerunner
