I noticed something at the end of the first mission (Dawn) in Halo 4. When the Chief is being sucked into the gravity well to Requiem, you see a green glowing ball move by.
Oh cool, someone else that watches Brad’s videos. Although that green orb thing didn’t catch my eye the first time I watched this, but it looks a lot like the lights on the Covie vehicles to me.
From the look and effects it emits, I honestly think it is a bolt of plasma that the Storm Covenant might have shot at the Forward Unto Dawn, seeing they are trying to kill the Master Chief.

I don’t that killing the Chief would be there biggest concern when they are getting sucked into a giant metal planet…
Actually if you keep watching the sequence you can see the shape of the ship.
I also noticed the end of that sequence when the Cruiser broke up as you were being pulled in. How fast did the Chief pass through it?? It’s a massive cruiser, not a Phantom.
Good catch on Mendicant Bias. Let’s hope the theory is true.
No way that’s Mendicant Bias. That green looks really similar to the module thing you can find at the beginning of the second mission. It’s just some covenant tech.
Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies! I see the Covenant ship in the background and it’s definitely a possibility that the light was just from the ship.
Here are some reasons why I think this is unlikely:
When I first saw this it looked as if the green ball was very close to Master Chief, as if it were right behind the railing. I tried to watch the video closely but it’s definitely hard to say for sure if the green ball is in fact close by.
The light would be the only light coming from that ship. I mean we know the Covenant ships usually have long lines of light. Yet the one in the distance was dark except for this green light where you get a perfect view of it. You can see the entire green circular outline with almost no distortion in view even though the ship is far away. Also if someone can post a video or screenshot of a perfectly circular light coming from a Covenant ship (and from the side) please upload it.
I doubt it’s a bolt of plasma because it’s going way to slow. Also the shot would have been fired before Master Chief even went through the door.
This was a ‘cinematic’ part of the mission, where you’re forced to look at this part. The way it moved across it’s definitely the focal point where most people were attracted to even for a second or 2. You only get a quick glance of it and then it’s gone after Master Chief turns around. This, in my mind, means this could be much more significant than just a light from a ship.
Now with this aside, I think we all can agree that it was possible for Mendicant Bias to get onto Forward Unto Dawn when the Chief and Cortana left the Ark.
Slight SPOILER ALERT
One thing that did stump me however was that Mendicant Bias was not mentioned at all during Halo 4. This is probably the only reason why I have some doubt. The only logical reason for this I can see if maybe Mendicant Bias will come up later. I know this could just be me trying to find reasons to support my claim, but there wasn’t really any obvious cliffhanger left at the end of Halo 4 for a sequel. We know 343 will be making a trilogy so there is definitely stuff they’re keeping from us behind the scenes which will come up in Halo 5 & 6.

Which module thing? I’ll play through the beginning of the 2nd mission again to look but please give me more details. I know it’s the same type of green as some lights on the Covenant technology but I haven’t seen a perfect circle like that.
Also a fun fact, Gamelpar referred the Mendicant Bias as the “Green Eye” in the book Primordium.
