Hello all. I am wondering if there has been any confirmation to MB being alive? I have read most of the lore and actually found that he might be dead because of this from the Halo 3 terminal

MB may not be in future games as 343 could just say he died on the ark. I don’t know if MB is saying this because he knows chief is going to fire the rings and destroy the ark (which does not happen) or if he is actually going to die. This may be the reason why we heard nothing of him in Hunter’s in the Dark.

I did listen to that and that takes place once the rings were fired 100,000 years from the Halo games. I am talking about after MC and Cortana fire off installation 04B. It is believed the reason they made a special bonus chapter for the otherwise irrelevant event of his trial was to set the stage for his return. Mendicant Bias was active as of 2553, and unless we get a massive retcon I expect that he survived, considering the Halo blast is merely anti-biological and Bias was buried deep in the Ark.
Yes he is still active. The passage you provided makes many people believe he sent John to Requiem to meet the Didact one of the forerunner’s who made him. Although he likely wasn’t aware of his mental state.
