Mendicant Bias and his Loyalties.

Mendicant Bias said he wanted to atone for his sins by helping Humanity reclaim the Mantle. However, the return of the Didact may throw a wrench in the manner of his quest. Will Mendicant Bias truly make a habit of betraying his masters? Who would he side with: the Didact, or Humanity?

I don’t think “humanity” comes into play here. He’s siding with Master Chief. I think Mendicant Bias has something to do with why Guilty Spark called Master Chief “Inheritor of all they left behind.” That being said, the Didact and Bias probably wouldn’t be on the best terms, I think he’ll stick with the Chief. Might replace Cortana even

Amm yeah… the Didact is already dead.

Didact’s last words: Nooooooo!!!

He’s composed. He still exists, however, and will play a role in Halo 5.

He is not composed. He was killed by a Halo Mater Chief activated with the index. The Didact was desintegrated, not composed. Beisdes, the new form of the Didact makes him invulnerable to the composers. He simply can´t be composed.

In Halo 4, the Didact himself says that the composer will not work on his new form.

That’s not what I saw in the Halo Escalation comics. Chief used the index to disengaged the safe protocol of installation 3 and ejected the whole part to crashed on the forge of composers. Chief didn’t activate the ring.

Right, my bad. He didnt activate the ring. But we know for sure the Didact CANT be composed. So anyways he is pretty much dead by now as the images show him being disintegrated.

First, Ur-Didact’s will does not represent the will of forerunners. Ur-Didact was trying to use the composers to defeat the flood which was against by most of the other forerunners, even his copy version Iso-Didact chose to activate the rings as the best solution at the end. For the forerunners Ur-Didact was the heresy, therefore betraying Ur-Didact does not equal to betraying the will of forerunners.
Second, if humanity is going to take the mantle, Ur-Didact will be the obstacle sooner or latter, so he must be defeated. Take a little bit far-fetching guess, the real reason Mendicant Bias sent Chief to Requiem not only for defeating Ur-Didact but also to retreive the Janus Keys. The Janus Keys are the only possible method to reach the Absolute Record and that is what real help human to claim the mantle.

Chief says in Escalation “he believed the Forerunner was merely ‘contained’, not dead”. I also seem to remember 343 stating he is composed but cannot remember where they said this.

Composition disintegrates you too.

We don’t know the extent of his “immunity” to the Composer. 6 composers at once may be able to do something.

343i has since confirmed that the Didact has become a digital essence, and the Chief himself stated that the Didact is merely contained.

From Didacts character page:

> Though their battle with the Didact was perilous and proved nearly fatal, the Spartans were able to band together, and with the help of 859 Static Carillion they tricked the Didact into using the Composers on himself. Effectively turned into a digital essence, the Office of Naval Intelligence currently considers the Didact “contained”, though it remains to be seen if his threat to humanity is truly at an end.

I believe chief has the geas of the isodidact, who was symathetic to humans and agreed with the librarian in the end that humanity was the rightful heir to the mantle. It was to the iso didact who locked medicant bias away until his time to serve came again. We fought the Ur didact in halo 4, who hated and respected humans, so i doubt if the continued existance of the urdidact would affect medicant bias’ intentions of aiding humanity.

I hope ‘he’ does play a role in Halo 5, at least i’m assuming that ‘Guardian’ in the Halo 5 boxart is ‘him’. I think ‘his’ loyalties are kind of unknown at this point, since ‘he’ has been able to think about where they truly lie for like a few hundred thousand years. I don’t think ‘he’ is still allied with the Flood, but not to a specific person either. If ‘he’ chooses to be allied with the Forerunners after his re-awakening, I do belive that means his loyalties will also be with the Humans, snice they are the future holders of the Mantle and all.
