Mendez [leader idea]

The man who trained both the Spartan ll and Spartan lll candidates, Mendez seems like an ideal choice for a leader. I’m thinking he has an entire focus on Spartan deployment.

I think each leader has ten leader powers, right? So I’ll make these up as I go along.

Hero unit: Kurt Ambrose [Spartan 051]. Armed with SPI armor and the beam of an Onyx Sentinel. His active power is to blend in with the environment [active camo] and lay a trap at his next move order location. Weaker shield than other Slls, but stronger than the Jackal shield gauntlets Sllls get when upgraded [fully upgraded]

Special Unit: Spartan lll team. Spartan llls armed with the rifles they used in Ghosts of Onyx. Active ability is to lay a trap and become invisible. Can be upgraded to have a weak Jackal shield gauntlet that deflects small amounts of damage [weaker trap and gun than Kurt, shorter cloak duration; unlocks with passive ability]

These are the powers, in no specific order:

1: Specialist Drop: A few squads of Spartan llls drop down from SOEIVs. They have jetpacks as their active ability.

2: Improved Turret Drop: Drops a turret that can be improved prior to the drop

3: Trap Drop: Drops a trap that cannot be detected

4: Expendable Heroes [passive]: all Infantry units have reduced costs, train faster and have increased combat effectiveness.

5: Field Resupply: Units within selected area get the weapons from their next kill

6: Noble Drop: Drops in the legendary NOBLE team, who inspire confidence in nearby units [damage and health increase]

7: Air Support [passive]: All Nightingales get a troop load area, allowing a single squad to be carried. ASll: Nightingales get two side turrets

8: SPARTAN llls [passive]: Unlocks Spartan llls with SPI armor to be trained in the main building.

9: Death From Above: Calls in an artillery strike from Kodiaks that are located off of the battlefield [doesn’t take units]

10: Teleportation Network: Halsey hacks into the teleportation network to help the Spartans. [similar to Shipmaster’s teleporting abilities]

I like this, would love to see real Spartan III’s from onyx, not those from Reach that looked like Spartan II.

Reach had discount Slls, honestly. Only reason Noble Team was an ability here was because I thought it would be a nice way to play in both Sllls and Slls at once

Thanks, I worked hard on it. I figured it would be cool to bring in a leader from the lore, and since we haven’t seen any Sllls since Reach I figured this would be a good way to introduce some people to the original Sllls who relied more on stealth, trickery, and teamwork.

Sounds like a pretty cool leader to me. I like the focus on spartans and sounds like a fun leader in general.

Tried to make the normal Sllls as tactical as possible without being too OP like the more elite Sllls (see: Noble Team)

Glad y’all like it. Maybe, just maybe, if 343 sees this, they might add it in as a fan request. I’d love to see more of whatever this is gameplay from the UNSC.

If that was really Mendez in Hunt the Truth, I’d happily pay extra to have Stacy Keach return for the voice.

Hunt the Truth was full of lies though, so realistically we can call it 50/50. Voice did fit him, didn’t it?

Spanish, I just like to hear more spanish names. XDD It gives Halo that old feeling for me so far, Sanchez was actually a soldier in original Halo… Nowadays we get Yu, Zhong, Hui because of the rise of Chinese market. Snifff… I am a nostalgic XD

That’s the market now. Warframe does it too. It’s also understandable because the UNSC is every human, not just North America. Though, North America does seem to be the most inspirational because of the US marines. Merica!

I think expendable heroes would be a bit too powerful and Mendez should focus more on support stuff. Like have a power like atrioxs bulwark and call it inspire or something like that. Another power could be sentinel summon that summons sentinels from onyx to attack both teams (maybe have it where they don’t detect cloaked units). Maybe make Mendez have abilities that sacrifice troops like spartan 3s go in to rush mode and get a significant buff but die after 30 sec.

Seems a bit counterproductive to have your own ability kill you. Plus we already have a Sentinel leader. I don’t think EH is too bad, especially considering infantry are easily countered. It’s like ACC Assembly, but for infantry. One could take out the damage buff included due to the infantry upgrades giving everything like 30% increase in damage in the end.
