Melee with the Extraction device?

I was in a custom game lobby the other day testing a map for extraction when someone said that they killed a person and got the medal “Stay back!” so a bit later we retested it and tried it out for myself and only just noticed that you can actually melee while arming/converting a site.

Am I the only one here who never new this existed?

The medal even has the announcer saying “Stay back!” which is quite cool. After the game in the post game stats it was also my Tool Of Destruction and it was labeled as “Bomb” which was quite interesting as I didn’t think that the device was called a bomb either.

If you are ever in a game of extraction and while your arming/converting a site, an enemy runs up to you trying to stop you, you can one hit melee them and get a pretty cool kill from them.

I figured this out a while ago, too. It’s not really something that’s common knowledge. You get a Stay Back medal for any kill while arming/converting a beacon. I’ve gotten one after sticking someone and beginning to arm.

I’ve gotten 3 Stay Back! medals so far. I recieved the first one with a Hail Mary on Landfall. The second one came when I instinctively melee’d when an opponent got too close (hence Stay Back!). I was really shocked when my Spartan swung the extraction device delivering a brutal 1sk melee attack.
