Melee with RB and Rebinding preferences.

For everyone who is rebinding Melee on the RB…, where are you planning to place the “Use Equipment”.

I have an issue with pressing down the Right stick, i always press it when im in fights. I’ve tried to retrain my muscle memory not to do it, but I can’t seem to achieve it. So i dont want to put it in the RS, so the only places i have left are in the D-Pad. But you have to let go of the left stick to actually press it, so you lose time to use the Grapple or Barrier.

I want to hear your suggestions, and what are your button mapping preferences. (For ppl without paddles on the back of course)

having left bumper as the tool button right next to grenades on left trigger is very satisfying to me

After playing and tweaking with the settings as I’m a deep optimizer in any fps settings I’m given. I used the Legacy controls and since the remapped buttons were bugged with pulling turrets off their rack I decided that if i get the game I’m going to remap Melee back to the B button as I use paddles.

I’ll map crouch to the right bumper so I can crouch and fire with the same finger since mantling has completely replaced the need to crouch hop super often, I find crouching in Halo Infinite combat is more flavor than effective in most fights unless you are really tricky.

Unfortunately RS is probably the best place to put it if you want LS zoom and RB melee. I can’t think of anything you could put on RS that won’t cause problems if with your gunfights aside from ping. If anything accidentally pinging everytime you get into a gunfight would actually be beneficial. But dpad equipment is extremely suboptimal.

Exactly. You get my point.
LS is sprint though. I have zoom on LT. I could probably use zoom on RS, grenade on LT and equipment on LB. Would have to get accostumed to it though…
Im actually thinking of simply not using equipment at all, which would be detrimental to movement, seeing as people are going to be using grapple a lot.

Yeez, when will console developers understand we neeed back buttons on regular controllers.

I play on bumper jumper which I find is the best layout for me by far, that has equipment on the X button.

If I had back panels though I’d map one as equipment and one as ping.

I have the equipment use on B button, and right stick click as crouch.

I had to remake Boxer. Left trigger is the true Melee. Old school.
