Melee trade off is broken

Anyone else experience this.

You get the drop on an enemy, you put a few shots into them popping there shields and then they get close to you so you melee them.
They melee you once and you die???

HOW!

You had full shields. They had no shields they took more damage and you took less but you end up dying and they walk off.

I think the speed for a second melee is very fast most of the times I died for a double melee.

They would have the same weapon as me and only hit me once and I die?

I know that holding different weapons have different melee speeds the oddball being the fastest melee in the game. This has happened to me more times and its so frustrating. They take more damage and would have no shields at all, you would have full shields or even 90% shields and would die from one hit. Faceplam!!

I think there’s a server latency balancing thing going on too: what we see, isn’t necessarily what the server sees.

I’ve experienced this a lot through 20 years of Halo, but really, really noticed it this last week:

I unload and melee, the opponent isn’t even looking at me, then melees.

We both die.

That sort of disparity isn’t good for the player, but I expect the other guy actually was shooting me too.

Maybe just playing against players far, far away?

At least, that’s my take.

I’ve not experienced that yet, but that thing about a different weapon can melee in different speed is kind of no sense I didn’t know that

This has happened to me a few times and I was like, what the heck!

It’s got to do with melee damages for different weapons. One shot from a mangler +melee and you’re done.

I dont think so. I’m guessing from answers its the server lag

Yes some weird stuff happening some times. I’ve been one hit killed and have one hit killed with the brute mangler - without and prior damage applied.
