Melee should work like a projectile

havvent really thought this idea through but i will say it anyway. i think the current melee system might be a bit boring, mainly because of the trades. I like the idea of dodging someones melee lunge and then instantly lunge at them. Basically the first person to lunge has more chance of losing so lots of risk vs reward. I guess this also applies to the current system too when people mistime melees but that feels a bit more broken and also doesnt look cool.

the lunge would have to be similar to a quick sprint+slide so that people dont start lunging to travel around the map and the lunge also shouldnt work in the air. In the air should just be a normal magnetic melee (wiith a lot less magnetic lunge)

or maybe iinstead of a melee, its another close range weapon, that fires a slow projectile kinda like the hammer that fires a wave.

As Melee currently works this way in Overwatch, I disagree.

It created more problems than it alleviated.

maybe, i suggested another idea where melee is a weapon instead and it fires a close range projectile. I play with melee on the B button so eithher of these methods would be annoying to aim and shoot for me anyway. i feel like games have too many inputs than they can handle for a controller.

Very similar to Halo 5’s shoulder charge…

a little. i will be happy with the current system if they nerf lunge range and fix enemy collision. its so dumb when enemies walk through you.
