I have been getting a ton of rounds saying Unstable packet loss after the recent patch. And I’m in The U.S on worked connection in a regular size town. In Cali.
Not sure what’s going on but I know it’s not resolved. I was in a round with 158 ping a few days ago.
Honestly I don’t think they can fix it. The games code is possibly to unstable to maintain and update
I wrote this already but more than ever after their hotfix update I have been getting Unstable packet loss, when I go to check it my packet loss is 0 or 1 on test, I have Xfinity direct worked internet for my Series X.
It has to be this game because even COD is running fine we’ll as fine as one expect it to run.

Or… Unpopular opinion incoming: just remove the ranks. It’s obvious that the matches are unbalanced and do not even remotely reflect a player’s skill. When the netcode (or whatever the real issue is) is fixed, bring it back.
Fact is: the game worked perfectly fine before the “improvements”. Since then the aim assist is on and off, hot detection goes bonkers and you can immediately tell who’s living in the vicinity of the servers.
Good thing is that there are a lot of other fps mp options out there, so I guess the only language they understand is a dropping player count.
every time i went behind a wall tonight in a firefight i got shot through it
I’m very close to uninstalling after tonight and never coming back

It’s desync in general. I have had several things fail to register, not just melee. And my connection is solid… I’m on FIOS, I’m hard-lined to the router, NAT open, ping in the teens consistently. Still Melees are always screwing up, I notice it not just for me… but for my enemy too… There’s been a few times I got hit from behind… straight up, but I don’t die. I can’t even tell how many times I throw a grenade at an enemy with no shields and it does nothing. I’ve seen my rockets explode at there feet and they don’t die… and I know I’ve like 6 shotted a person with the BR and still didn’t even see a shield pop.
I love Halo, and I’m trying my best to enjoy what we have… but this is just killing the experience. How can I enjoy a shooter that doesn’t shoot?

I know im really late to this but i was scouring the forums and your comment stuck out to me.
The idea of rank going to those living closer to servers is pretty demoralizing. I live in Nowhere Wyoming so the nearest server is a state or two away. That doesnt bode well. I reached plat 3, nearly to 4 in the first season but now, despite my stats showing Ive actually improved significantly since then, Im struggling to hold onto plat 1.
I havent seen any mention of this yet, (maybe ill make a post about it once i remember to save a few clips for evidence) but even the 2 shot melee doesnt work anymore in ranked. Same with the heatwave one shot beatdown. I dont know if thats the desync getting worse, performance issues from playing on an old xbox one, or if theres a bug that makes the melee nerf they put in social accidentally bleed into ranked. Either way, its robbed me of countless kills I’d have easily gotten in season 1 and has gotten me killed in some crucial moments of a match.
Side note, the team average MMR is another kick in the nads with the rankings because even if your rank is low, you can still have a high enough collective MMR score to go up against diamonds who have one gold or silver tagging along just to get your -Yoink!- kicked, deranking you even further. At least thats what has been happening to me. It really is a busted system. Shame because ranked is the most fun mode to play
