Melee Range

So i’ve been playing for all of this weekend and for the first 10-2 yesterday, melee damage seemed pretty weak with little to no lunge but starting last night during the 5-9 the melee range absolutely got a buff, but this morning it was on another level. Now I am routinely being lunged at with more than half shield from at least 5+ feet away for an easy melee kill. Anybody else think that’s too much? Or am I in the minority?

From what I seen in my matches, it takes two melee hits to kill a player. However, I felt like there was no lunge when I try to hit a player. However, the enemy players would seem to somehow be able to lunge at me no problem. It could be me being bad the game, or what I’m saying is actually true. I don’t know.

It feels like commando pro… granted that is an exaggeration but it’s honestly not far off. I have no idea what they’ll do when they add energy swords lol

From the past halo games I played, energy swords had some lunge and are always one hit. I hope it stays that way. I just hope they don’t increase the lunge. Last thing we need is players stabbing other players from across the map. Also, I never played Halo 5, so I don’t know how the energy sword plays in that.

It’s mainly because the game has no real physics, so the the lunge barely works. You also just phase through the enemy in CQB, so it’s basically pointless to go in close range.

I do feel like the lunge can be a bit much at times from what i’ve experienced too. I am curious to see how far the range is on the energy sword in comparison.

There is a glitch where you can spam the melee rn and it’s stupidly broken.

Basically, and if more stuff like that exists, it’ll be super easy to install a macro to just spam that on a click of a button.

True, I wouldn’t be surprised if people already did that for the pistol seeing how op some people are with it

I didn’t know that. That’s so broken. They got to patch that out.

The netcode plays a huge part. I’m assuming the lunge is because the player is actually closer than they actually are in their screen than they are on your screen. Combined with the bug and the fact that melee takes at most two hits, it makes it look like you’re being insta killed.

Has any one had an enemy player slide through you and punch you in the back? I had this one match where a dude had 11 back smacks because of this nonsense.

I think it could use a reduction or just an indicator. Half the time I don’t lunge and the other guy does, and it isn’t clear up to how far the lunge works. An indicator near the crosshair like the grappleshot’s would be nice. Occasionally the other guy and myself lunge at each other and then the other guy gets a second punch off almost instantly. A bit of delay between punches would be nice, but only after lunging. It might just be pc being able to click fast while I’m not too good at rapidly clicking the b button.
