Melee needs a nerf. it's strength is being used as a crutch

Which would make the second melee occur faster.

It never has. It has only stopped the animation not the cool down time.

One of these combos is faster than other.

Maybe I’m glitching the game every time to make it faster but I’m definitely getting the second meele out a lot quicker. And that’s not the only combo that makes it fast either

You’re not. I’ve explained in full above. With all the possible animation cancels and what the time save actually is.

You may claim to be unbeatable (your stats are visible online so we can all see you’re not) but the animation cancels are widely known and reducing the time between melees is not one of them.

Yes certain ones are one shot melees in H5 and smaller weapons in infinite melee faster but now alternatvolt’s going to get even more confused in his posts so thanks :joy:

It’s like when people tried telling me you can’t thrust and shoot at the same time. YOU can. Just because it was designed to keep the mellee the same throughout gameplay doesn’t mean you can’t break it. Now pair that with the lunge and you got an unbetable mellee and if you trade with me it was always be delayed. I see it happen all the time.

I think it’s intermittent, probably issuse with hit registry and netcode causing it to turn off randomly.

It’s not the same at all because you can shoot so soon after thrusting that it’s almost the same time but you can’t reduce the time between two melees

I think it’s fine the way it is. The melee glitches need to be patched out but that’s about it.

The issues are probably appearing due to the netcode being wonky. We really shouldn’t nerf it because of that.

Halo shouldn’t be a boxing match. It’s turning into everyone double meleeing. It’s nothing to do with lunge although once player collision and cool down are looked at maybe lunge could be looked at again once the other two have been removed from the equation.

I haven’t really encountered anything out of the ordinary when it comes to melee.

If anything it’s pretty risky given the added knockback effect and the slower movement. You kinda have to catch your opponent off guard to get a 2 hit kill.

But that’s just my 2 cents.

If you’re that close to an enemy not once but 5 times? You have to be putting forth some effort.

They can gun you down quite easily.

If you’re sat capping any stronghold in this game then you have cover. If they round a corner while you’re behind that cover you can melee them twice before they even think about firing.
That’s just one example and as I’ve been answering people on this thread for over 12 hours on and off, I’m not giving any more. Can read the 90+ comments above and ask someone else :joy:
I’m not talking about sprinting in a straight line in the open towards them.

I can’t say I get lunged at with melee tbh. I have noticed it does feel inconsistent though, sometimes Ill click melee at the same time as another player and it won’t register, even though my screen just showed me slapping someone :rofl: it’s rare though.

Well that’s what they get for pushing instead of finding a way around the cover.

The only way other than pushing, for example stronghold A on Streets, is nades. It’s all cover even if you do the relatively unknown/unused at the moment jumps up to the the front And absolutely no reason why 2 players shouldn’t conduct a 2 man push against 1 person capping a stronghold, it’s just ridiculous I can take 1 out myself with a double melee with zero skill whatsoever within 1 second.

The likes of Snip3down, one of the most successful Halo players of all time, literally screams his house down on stream because of issues such as this but you guys have no issue. You need to get yourselves on the pro circuit because you’re clearly much better.

or, alternatively, like a melee. if you consistently find you are being rushed up on by players, use your ability to walk backwards, or your ability to smack them right back.

Bad take.

Melee already HAS been nerfed compared to previous games, with no homing to it anymore.

Melee is fine in this game.
