Melee lunge is overpowered

melees should only happen when -

  1. 2 people agree to charge at each other
  2. you completely surprise someone and/or sprint slide towards them

these methods will still work reliably even if the lunge was completely removed so I think nerf the lunge as much as possible so you cant easily melee someone unless theyre surprised or agree to trade.

i remember the melee being kinda bad in halo 5 and even though the lunge was better than classic halo, people still used it less. Thats beccause halo 5’s melee problem wasnt a lunge issue, it was just incredibly risky to melee someone in halo 5 because they could easily thrust away and completely bamboozle you. Players avoided melees and stuck to reliable gun fights which was a shame because melee was a big part of halo’s combat for quick kills and always reliable.

When playing the halo infinite flights, the lunge range still seemed to be the same as halo 5’s. Now thruster was gone, the melee became incredibly overpowered and it ruined gun fights. 343 fixed it after feedback and the game plays much better but its still cheap and can be nerfed more to a point where maybe no one complains about 1 shot melees anymore

Way OP dude. The lunge in Infinite is absolutely ridiculous compared to past Halo’s. That’s assuming though you even register the enemy and don’t just phase through him.
