The only thing that truly frustrates me in this game is melee damage and registration. It’s so inconsistent, I feel like it’s gotten worse as the game has gone on. I feel like it’s RNG when you do it. Anybody else having issues with melee?
Your connection might be problematic- I for one haven’t had any problems and feel h5 has one of the more consistent melee systems.

Not particularly. It seems pretty consistent to me. Is it killing to fast for you or too slow? Is the number of shots prior to the melee fluctuating? What mode are you playing in? Now the splatter mechanics are all over the map though.
it is consitend in it self. Try it offline.
A lot of those problems come by server conections. The groundpound damage depends on the height you start doing it.
In warzone you have different buffs from weapons and powerupps, there it is inconsitend.
But halo 5 melee is stonger in generell. U can 1 hit an enemy with very low shields. This was also able in 4. So this is not relly new.
But be aware of your controller. Halo 5 has a problem wit registrating all inputs, if they are becoming to many.
Same problem with Shotgun.
My guess is the servers are just getting worse with each update which is contributing to this problem.
The only problem is that when I hit someone 2 times in the head with a magnum(in the beginning of the game)and punch them they survive. When they shoot me with 1 shot and then they punch me, I die.

It worked last time and trying same thing again with same distance, end up getting killed.
It may be a problem on your end. For me, halo 5 has a really consistent Melee system. The only problem I have comes with bayonets in warzone where they aren’t always an instant kill.

That happens because your enemy has equipped Upgraded Shields, which can let you survive a sniper headshot.
This is so annoying and I have even seen it happen to my opponents when trying to melee me.
