Melee & Bleedthrough ?

What style of Melee do you prefer ?
Halo 3 had bleedthrough / what I liked and want back in halo 4
Halo Reach’s melee system NO BLEEDTHROUGH / I dislike it and dont want its in Halo 4
What do you prefer and, want its HALO 4 ??

Bleedthrough !

I prefer Melee to be much more deadlier that’s for sure. I cannot make my judgement just yet until the E3 event comes around next month

Bleedthrough.

You’re a fool if you like no bleedthrough.

Something like Halo 2’s with bleedthrough. Always seemed pretty ridiculous that you could just run up to someone and punch them twice without even having to aim much and get kills. With the strength of Halo 2’s melees you could still get kills with it but it wasn’t so OP.

This. Especially without visible health, there is no point.

That’s how I feel …

Agreed. Melees were perfect in Halo 2, but they were soooo overpowered in Halo 3 and Reach.

I don’t think melee damage should be like Halo 2, unless it is consistently a 2-hit kill.

Bleedthrough only for melee, not weapons. Sniper & rockets exception.

Bleedthrough like Halo 3, never had any problems with it, it was broken in Reach as it just doesn’t work with visible health & single shot weapons.

Worked just fine for the Carbine and CE Pistol.

Two guns compared to all the weapons isn’t really an argument.

PS: I loved your suggestion in regards to rank & spawn killing.

Two single shot weapons that worked fine with bleedthrough.

Bleedthrough was perfect in Halo 3 and I want it in halo 4 …

And with Halo 4 having the same style health system as Halo 3 it would be silly not to have Bleedthrough,- if you think about it !!

Personally Bleed through seems really random in fights, and I do not want to see bleed through return in Halo 4.

Bleed through was added to Reach, and it didn’t exactly work within Reaches mechanics, and seeing how Halo 4 will be an expansion of Reach I think it is safe to say it would be unwise to try an implement it once again, and fail.

Bleedthrough in Halo 3 is how it should be.

Its unbalanced in Reach. You get the first few shots onto someone and they give you the double beatdown without even firing a shot :frowning:

Thats more of a damage issue than a bleed through issue, I think

IMO, melee should take 3 hits, either two hits for shield and one for body (no bleed through), or perhaps doing about 35-40% of a players total health (if there is bleed through). it solves double-derp but maintains melees effectiveness at finishing off kills without it being too good, especially the second one.

bleed-through is iffy for me, the main problem for me at least in reach was the DMR was inconsistent with bleed trough. Also, it was hard to judge exactly when a melee would kill you in reach when bleed through was on. Melee damage was too high, designed to completely drain shields on one hit, and then completely drain health on the second. with bleed through, I’ve died with as much as half my shields left to a single melee, which I’m pretty sure wasn’t the case even in halo 3.

if its designed for bleed through from the ground up and melee is not too strong, though, it should be fine. should.

Yeah it was a fail in Reach / But with Halo 4 having the same style health system as Halo 3 it might work better…

also how will you ever

AR beat down with out it Sir

Bleedthrough. Halo 3 style.
