Here’s my new proposition for Megendary (Halfway between Legendary and Mythic) Difficulty:
Cloud, Famine, Thunderstorm, Tough Luck, Catch, and Mythic ON.
My reasoning is this: These are the 6 skulls that most specifically and directly increase the difficulty of the campaign in line with how it is increased in the official difficulties (Easy, Normal, Heroic, Legendary). The other significant skulls, Black Eye, Iron, Blind, Cowbell and Tilt all can certainly increase the difficulty but don’t do it in as straight forward a way as the aforementioned 6. They are game changers, no doubt, and that’s why I feel they should be left for Mythic.
Ok the WHY: The jump from Legendary to Mythic is disproportionate to that from Heroic to Legendary. Call me a wimp, whatever, I want to work my way up to that level. I’m interested in created a stepping stone HALFWAY between the two highest difficulties. Megendary. Lythic. The name can be decided later.
Here’s the skulls and what they do so you don’t need to go looking:
Black Eye - Shields don’t recharge unless you melee enemies.
Iron - Co-op: Back to previous checkpoint on death. Solo: Restart mission on death.
Blind - The HUD and the first person arms and weapon are hidden.
Famine - Weapons drop much less ammo.
Tilt - Enemy resistances and weaknesses are increased.
Mythic - Enemies have increased health.
Catch - Enemies are grenade happy!
Tough Luck - Enemies always go berserk, always dive out of the way, and never flee.
Thunderstorm - Major upgrade to the capabilities of enemies.
Cloud - Motion sensor is disabled.
Cowbell - Acceleration from explosions is increased.
IWHBYD - Rare combat dialogue becomes more common.
Grunt Birthday Party - Headshot a Grunt, HAPPY BOOM TIME!
If you consider all those 6 skulls will make more difficult, it should be significant enough to fit halfway between Legendary and Mythic. All enemies upgraded in class and increased health, more likely to throw grenades, more likely to go crazy and dodge your attacks and they never back down. Ouch. Plus, significantly less ammo to deal with them and no motion sensor to track them. Almost seems like too much.
This is all meant for SOLO play.
Grunt BP and IWHBYD don’t matter much so I’m willing to add those or keep them out.
What do you think? Too much? Too little? Don’t give a blam!? Please share your thoughts.
