I thought this would be helpful for anyone (like me) who collects the Halo Mega Bloks sets AND is interested in the promotional REQ packs several of the sets include. The Mega Bloks website (https://collectors.megabloks.com/en-us/news/halo-5-guardians-halo-mega-bloks-in-game-emblems) states that ANY of the Promotional REQ packs included with any set should give you one of the two Mega Bloks specific emblems. However from my personal experience (and the experience of others) this has not been the case. Now this could be an error that may (or has) been corrected… but what I can confirm is the existence of THREE specific types of REQ pack cards: each of which provide a different promotional REQ pack. These types can be identified by the small white type on the lower-right of the back of the cards (directly across from the redemption code).
-
The first type (code F-CNG65-9LG03) provides a Basic Promotional REQ pack, providing three common to uncommon REQ’s. I received several of these cards with the smaller ($15-25) sets, including (and up to) the Gausehog.
-
The second type (code F-CNG67-9LG03) provides an Intermediate Promotional REQ pack, which for me provided the Mega Bloks banner along with other REQ’s of better quality (than the basic packs). I received this code in the Scorpion Tank set.
-
The third type (code F-CNG69-9LG03) provides an Advanced Promotional REQ pack, which for me provided the Mega Bloks X banner along with a bunch of other REQ’s of better quality than the intermediate pack). I got this code in the Vulture Gunship (which is the largest set in the Halo 5 series).
Regardless of if the inclusion of the Mega Bloks banners should be included in all packs (or just the Intermediate and up), these three types of packs provide more and higher quality of REQ’s. The larger the set (starting with the Scorpion) the better the REQ’s included in the packs.
Also, be sure (if you buy a set wanting a REQ pack) to make sure it has the purple sticker on the front of the box. All of the boxes have the disclaimers on the backs, but only boxes with the purple stickers on the front include cards with the redemption codes.
So, in other words, not every set comes with a REQ pack code
Thank you so much for the clarification! I got the Banshee Strike set hoping to get the banner and was thoroughly disappointed when all I got was a mongoose certification.
Do you know if there’s any way to get the req pack after having bought the version of the sets without the sticker? I got my sets before they started marking them.
Also do you think/know if the Phaeton counts as intermediate?

You could try to contact Mega Brands (Mattel), but I’m guessing they would not be able to provide a code card. You could try to exchange/return the sets depending on when/where you got them and if you built them or not. I had the same disappointment with the Banshee as you.
I do not personally have the Phaeton set, so I can’t confirm which code it comes with. Given the price I’m guessing it may be a basic (since the Gausehog was only a basic despite its size/price).
Anyone have the Phaeton set and can confirm the code? It would be great to know what the smallest (cheapest) set is that include this REQ pack.
You can get the emblems in the req system as well

Yeah, I guess that is the good news for anyone who really wants them. It is just a bummer for people buying a set specifically to get one of the banners not receiving one. Out of all of the promotional REQ pack offers, this one possibly had the most confusing promotion (the purple labels themselves do not advertise including one of the banners, but Mega Blok’s online promotion does).
What about the hannibal mantis set? What kind of code is in that if there is any code?
Great info, I think I got one mega blocks album from I go back, and I missing more.
Please don’t revive old topics thanks
