If you could choose which multiplayers medals to remove and which medals to absolutely keep, which ones would you choose? I myself would absolutely keep “From the grave” because it sounds so damn satisfying everytime i hear it but remove medals like “Snapshot” and “Headcase”, they just seem way too frequent it rather gets annoying.

Maybe for some of us…
I don’t really mind any medals, as long as they aren’t too intrusive on the HUD (a la Halo 5 Beta - which was then rectified.)
But I do hope that the original medal colors return!
I’d trade the more mundane medals like Hat Trick, Nade Shot or (lol)Beam Rifle Kill for something more interesting/funny. The excitement of getting a Medal gets pretty old when half the medals are for just doing pretty basic kills. I really like the weird ones, like Combat Evolved or Fastball, which aren’t very common and are more or less awarded whenever you get a fluke/uncommon kill or do something pretty skillful that isn’t exactly a kill.
We don’t know how the grapple shot is going to behave with props yet, but I’d love to see a medal for killing a player with a traffic cone pulled by the grapple shot. Prop kills in general are pretty entertaining

I just wish the announcer didn’t say the name of the medal every time you got it. Snapshot is one thing, but Headcase is common as -Yoink-, and it gets old hearing him say it the same way over and over.
Medals occupy a weird place for me. I borderline hate how much stuff pops up on your screen in the “modern medal” games. But I absolutely love the amount of info medals give on the post game carnage report at the same time.
I wish I could see EVERY medal on the post game, but chose which ones pop up during gameplay.
Keep fastball, it’s hilarious
Keep perfect, fastball, and from the grave. Other ones im not too sure.

Yoink is already gone in Halo 5, and I don’t see it returning.
For others, I think that a lot of the minor medals people want removed should simply be in the post game report. I think the announcer should be reserved for Sprees, multi-kills, assassinations or a rare style kill.
Honestly I say keep all the medals and add more but let us choose in a menu what displays on screen during a match.
Remove any and all medals that only require one kill to get, with a few notable exceptions like Buzzkill, snapshot, and Perfect. Spree and multikill medals are plenty.
Remove all medals that require a single assist or any kind (driver, EMP, assist etc) spree medals are plenty (Wheelman spree/Roadhog, EMP spree/Noob Combo, Assist Spree/Bros to the Close and so on)
Add a Hat Trick medal for scoring three kills with a single shot/damage source (can be obtained with sniper overpenetration, high explosives, destroying a fully loaded Warthog etc.)
Get rid of “Objective offense” and “objective defense” medals, and instead award defending players with special objective defending sprees, and offending players with objective capture, driver, and escort medals.
I love how they’ve re-recorded some of the medals and add new ones (No Scope!). The only ones I’m disappointed (and honestly, somewhat devastated) by are losing the previous killing spree medals: Untouchable, Invincible, Inconceivable, and especially Unfrigginbelievable. They’re some of the best medals, especially with the annunciation/emphasis Jeff Steitzer lends them. I sincerely hope they bring them back, as compared to the new ones, they not only make Halo fun, but really differentiate it from any other shooter.
- Here’s a preview of the new ones that replace them, see the video description for the timestamps (Nightmare, Boogeyman, Grim Reaper, The Demon): Halo Infinite - NEW DEMON 40 KILLSTREAK, NEW UNFRIGGINBELIEVABLE! - YouTube
- And the old ones, for comparison (Untouchable, Invincible, Inconceivable, Unfrigginbelievable): AH Guide: Halo: Reach - Spree Medals | Rooster Teeth - YouTube
I hope the extermination medal will return in the full version, had numerous quick bot overkill’s in the flight but never got the extermination. Also I would like them to expand the medals for making kills in vehicles together (road trip, Pineapple Express etc) to stimulate that awesome aspect of halo.

I agree that the medals for killing with a specific weapon are odd but I do like to be able to see how many kills are made with which weapon in the carnage report, so maybe only show them there.
Concerning the objective medals I feel quite the opposite. It’s often so annoying when you are the player doing a lot of flag running or defending and got nothing to show for it.

Damn, didn’t realise this was gone either – what an iconic medal…

Yeah, I really agree with you dude, I hope that 343 remove or give us some kind of option that let us disable that kind of medals when we are playing.

That and/or just remove some of the effects. I liked the idea of No Scope (especially the way it’s announced), but for a serious sniper (or just watching streams/videos like Mint Blitz and FatRat) it gets tiring very quickly. Just watched a clip of someone quickly no scoping with the sniper, and the repeated “No scope!” sound was not enjoyable.
What makes traditional medals different, is that they stack (e.g. “double kill” goes to “triple kill”, then “overkill”), rather than repeat (“no scope” “no scope” “no scope”). I’m sure there are a few that stack, but when an action is as common, it doesn’t make sense in the gameplay flow.
Also, felt sad to see clips where someone wipes the entire enemy team with an Overkill, but gets no Extermination medal.

Yeah, Nightmare, Grim Reaper and especially Boogeyman are so cheesy and frankly, adolescent. It sounds like a COD medal or something. But Demon actually has lore behind it and implies you’re hyper lethal like Chief. Woah. “Hyper Lethal” needs to be a medal. Idk for what tho. Frankly, I’d have the sprees go: Spree, Frenzy, Riot, Rampage, Nightmare, Invincible, Unfrigginbelievable, then Demon.

I have no problem with all of the medals, but this is what im sad about, i loved hearing extermination in every halo game, sounds so satisfying. I am also missing suicide, i laugh everytime i hear it when playing a halo match

They could just have a kills breakdown screen in the Carnage report instead. Similar to the stat trackers on Waypoint, but just showing your kill sources for a single match.
