Obviously 360 no scope should be a medal. It’s basically mandatory in any FPS
But Gut Punch and BXR are so arbitrary (the medals for melee+battle rifle, or battle rifle+melee)
Also the pounders need to go (when two people ground pound the same person). But I think it’s mostly because I’m salty about not being able to get the assist pounder.
Big Game Hunter…
plz…remove this for Halo 6. Im so tired of hearing it. Its as bad as “Reload this!” and “Revenge!” in Reach.
Headshot medal. Except the sniper headshot…keep that. Both have an incredibly generic look, but I’d keep the sniper headshot. We don’t need a headshot medal.
i like the headshot medal. it lets you know that you got a headshot. also i think it would be hard to have a medal for 360 no scope. don’t see how they would be able to program that or justify it as it practically doesn’t happen. Turning yourself around completely to just end facing the same way is a waste of time. it sacrifices precious seconds which can change an entire game.

you get medals for assassinations, I don’t think saving “precious seconds” is high on their to-do list
I’m pretty split on N00b Combo. On one hand, it’s a very distinct announcement telling you that you’re a noob. At the same time, it gives people a reward and an incentive for playing like a -Yoink!-. Yeah, they’re using the tools at their disposal without cheating but it’s annoying when multiple players start doing it.
I’m against all medals that are given for something that shouldn’t be rewarded. Using the 360 example, all it does is promote showing off and attempting something that has a low percentage of success. Also, sucessfully pulling it off does not further the objective of a team game and will piss off teammates if not pulled off.

I actually thought of something similar, but you’d be assassinating an Active Camo user instead. I’d call it Predator, referencing the 1987 movie and the titular alien.

I think it would be better the other way around. Assassinating someone while you have active camo. That to me seems more like being the predator.

Made me think of “Eagle eye” kill an enemy with a headshot while they’re using camo.

But in my mind, detecting and shanking a Camo user would be more satisfying rather than picking off every person one by one while cloaked.

You get commendations for them. Which after enough kills will give you a spartan Id pic, which is arguably better than a medal.

Your entire OP is about medals not commendations.
Medals get called out in game which make them more satisfying. Not something you have to dig through on Waypoint or stats

Exuberant Witness says “AMAZING shield manipulation!” Makes me feel like I just did some crazy strategic move rather than just doing a cheap trick.

Anyone remember what Yabda says? Probably something similar.
if anything truly deserves a medal, it’s banking a sniper round off of the floor/wall for a kill. for as long as halo’s snipers have had that property, it’s a wonder there’s never (to my knowledge) been a medal for it.
