Medals quality over quantity
Medals are preset awards in multiplayer that showcase special achievements that a player makes through the game, usually by killing opponents in a special way, a certain number of opponents at a time or in one life, or by achieving some objective.
Medals should be a celebration of your skill, awarded by game changing play, a trick shot that you pulled off and make you scream out with joy. Medals should not be for a mundane task for reloading your weapon 5 times in a row. I joke but there are medals for the most unnecessary actions. During the flight i got a medal from killing 5 enemys with an AR and i thought that it was pointless. I feel like when im bombarded with so many it takes away the the grand celebration of something you managed to do that was unbelievable.
Heres a list of how many medals there are in previous halo games covering sprees, gametypes, campaign, objectives etc.
Halo ce - 23
Halo 2 - 23
Halo 3 - 56
Halo Reach - 113
Halo 4 - 170
Halo 5 - 220
From halo reach with assits medals and halo 4 and 5 having way too many medals seems like it makes getting a medal too easy and unsatisfying. Now days people really like getting as many as possible. There will be people defending halo 4 and 5 so I thought of a way to have both old and new Halo fans be happy. Why not have Medals and accommodations.
Medals
Medals being more decorative looking like an actual medal that can be pinned on a unifrom, with ribbons and stars, like from halo 3 and halo reach. These would be the Legendary Medals, Multi-Kills, Killing Sprees and some of the Weapon & Style Medals.
Accommodations
Would look like the accommodations from Halo reach, looking like a stripe with the symbol e.g. assist badge on the banner. These would be achievements like assists, close call, headshot, perfect, first strike and objective medals too.
Im sure that if you went to halowiki and looked at all the medals you could easily pick out which could be Medals and which could be accommodations even with halo 4 and 5 having nearly 50 to 150 more medals.
Im sure when you finish a game medals would seem more of an achievement rather an unnecessary bonus for playing a game and with accommodations could work really well for your XP.
Now its just an idea lads no need to tell me that it wont happen, Halo infinite wont be able to add it to the game. Let me know about your thoughts and keep it casual
