Medals in Halo Infinite

In Halo 5, medals are either common, rare, or legendary. For Infinite there should be more descriptors, like ultra rare or uncommon. Additionally, add an option to only show certain rarities. This way players can control the amount of medals that pop up. Players would be able to decide if they want medals only for something very significant, for almost everything (like H5), or somewhere in the middle.

I just hope the medals artstyle in Infinite wont be like what they were in Halo 4 and 5. I dont know what it was but I just felt the time and effort put into making those medals were nonexistent. There were A LOT of them that just looked the same as one another.

Reach’s medals were my favorite BY FAR. They looked rugged, damaged and unique. I hope we get something similar in Infinite.

Kinda miss seeing the multikill medals with their own color palette whereas in Halo 4 and 5 the color started with blue for double kill and blended until they were purple for the killionare medal. Just kinda boring and lacked any sense of uniqueness.

As an example this guy made excellent looking medals for multi kills reaching to 15. Here.

Definitely agree. The newer medals felt overwhelming and lifeless. I don’t need a medal for getting a kill with a power weapon, that’s just not medal worthy. Of course there were some great new medals that have come out (perfection), but I miss the variety of colors and designs.

I think the new medal designs were tied to power weapon commendations (same with AI kills in Warzone) and it’s a trend you could see start with Reach to some extent.

I do agree that some medals we can do without and that having filters to avoid certain types would be a really nice bit of UI customisation

I love the idea of being able to select what rarity of medals you see pop up during the game. I assume no matter your setting they would all appear in the post game carnage report.

If you gave me H5’s medal designs, H3’s medal color pallet, and Reach’s worn and battled medal textures… that would be the dream :smiley:
