Have they mentioned anything since the post beta blog about the abundance of medals? The warzone footage I’ve seen still shows a ton of pointless awards.

You mean, they let you know when you gain points towards your req level? Oh. So, sorry it’s too much.

No, I mean being rewarded medals for killing someone with a body shot…
You get a ‘kill’ medal. You’re getting points towards your req level. Seriously, why is everyone complaining ALL the time?

I was watching the Arena gameplay footage shown at the Rooster Teeth E3 coverage on Wednesday. Several enemies were killed with body shots. The generic kill medal NEVER CAME UP! So, Warzone and Arena have separate medal lists entirely, and if you play Arena, you will not see many of the so-called “pointless awards”. The Warzone stuff is kinda necessary to determine what you killed.

Thanks.

I’ve noticed that a lot on these forums. I remember when a forum consisted of genuine discussion, speculation, and friendly expression of opinions. But now all you see is people complaining (about a game that isnt even out yet) about every little detail. And when someone has a different opinion, it turns into a flame war spanning multiple pages. I guess it just comes with this generation…
As for medals, yes there is still a lot of them. I don’t really see this as a bad thing though; it doesn’t affect gameplay in any way.

Amen to that brother…
sighs
Warzone appears to be the casual gametype giving players a hell-loada medals to make them feel good. Arena is competitive and offers less medals.

I like that. I mean I didn’t mind the medals to begin with, but there are some that annoyed me because they are just reminders of failure lol. Like comeback kill or distraction medal.
The amount of pointless medals has bugged me as well. Like there’s a medal for killing a Jackal… like seriously? Do we really need a medal to pop up for that?
I really think medals should go back to basics. Just multi-kills, sprees, and cool stuff like assassinations, exterminations, vehicle hijacks, etc.
Same goes for what the announcer says. He shouldn’t be telling us his life’s story throughout every match. Just the name of the gametype and the basic medals that I stated above.

Complainers, complaining over EVERYTHING.
Seriously, they gave you a medal to show you that you did something to gain points towards your requisition level, just as the guy previously stated.
Ugh. Childish children complaining. ARGH.
I just don’t understand it. The medal is not hurting you…You don’t need to read it. I mean…Why care?

It’s just something else to complain about.
The only time I’ve been bothered by too many medals was in the Beta. I would kill someone and get like 4-6 medals for it. One time I got 13 (I will never forget the day that I killed someone in Halo and got 13 medals for it). It was too much. They’ve really toned it down, yet here we are with another thread complaining for the sake of complaining.

Says the guy complaining
Anyway, I’m not complaining about anything, just saying we don’t really need all these medals.
Do we, as gamers, really need to be reassured that we’re doing something good and helpful in the game? Why not just have the points pop up like they normally do for a kill? A medal is really unnecessary.
I don’t know how much time and resources go into making all these pointless medals, but I’m sure whatever little amount it may have been, it could’ve gone into other parts of the game that would’ve been much more beneficial.

Maybe you don’t. But some people might just like seeing it visualized in the form of a medal, rather than numbers on a screen.
Again, I ask, how does this hurt you? Do you physically feel pain at the thought of people getting awarded medals for something you consider worthless?

I’m not the only one who sees them as pointless, thousands of others share my opinion as well.
I just see it as a Call of Duty styled system that throws points and medals in your face for doing literally nothing. Something that a lot of games seem to be doing because gamers these days wanna feel special and awesome even though they’re pretty mediocre.
Reward us for actually doing awesome stuff, not just because we reloaded our gun.

Its not a reward. You get the same points regardless of if its shown as a medal or not. Its just a visual for what you did. You still get rewarded for doing awesome stuff. Last time I really played CoD was mw2 and a little of the first black ops. I do not recall medals being everywhere in those games.
