There are several things about reach I would like to vent about but most of the topics that I would like to cover seem to have already been covered (and covered well) by the good people of the halo community. However there is a thing or two I feel I must throw my opinion in on. Now mind you these arnt overly major topics but ,hey, its what the forums are for, is it not?
Like I said , these topics are not overly major topics. The thing that has ALWAYS bugged me about halo: reach is the first strike medal. Sure, its a great idea and i like it, but the bottom line is no matter which game type you play. There is ALWAYS going to be a first strike… there for, in reality, there are only 2 top medals, and frankly its quite silly when your hard work for that killing frenzy or perfection or even an overkill doesn’t get shown on the top medals when your first strike medal (which are quite common, useally in EVERY match)does. Theres plenty of room to display who got the first strike. Maybe in a similar way how Halo 3 displayed the MVP of the match. Once again, these are not major issues, just a penny for readers thoughts.
Another issue that gets under my skin, grenades. , the bounce power is WAY to much, its almost possible to get a grenade ANYWHERE you please. And even if your going to have negative comments, it happens to you all and it makes you mad!! Also, if you take 2 even 1 shot, its possible to be killed by a single grenade, and I don’t know about the rest of you but that is not right. I thought the DMR would be your primary killing machine, not grenades… In halo, the plasma grenades have the explosion range on its side, and the frag grenades have the damage on its side. But not in halo reach. The frags explosion range is just as far as plasma. Long story short, the grenades are powerful and are pretty much more of a primary weapon then the DMR it self.
These are just my opinions and feel free to comment as you please as I would like to know your thoughts on the Halo: reach grenades, and if this doesn’t cut it, try out halo 3 and take note of the grenades and compare them!, thanks for reading!
I totally agree with First Strike. I can understand having it in the game, but I don’t think it should be one of the Top Medals. It doesn’t take any skill at all to get it. You only get it because you happened to find and kill an enemy before anyone else did.
That moment of dread when you’re hiding behind something and you hear the whistle and rattle of a grenade being lobbed at you with impeccable accuracy…
Grenades are indeed everywhere, and people never seem to run out of them. And the blast power seems a bit overly powerful.
I guess it works both ways though. They’re just as powerful in your hand as they are in anyone else’s?

THANK YOU!! lol
and number88000, i do agree with you there, im totally willing to make that sacrifice though
Well I agree first strike is a pain but sometimes it good to have it there since even the noob can get there for a change but be nice to see other stuff, I notice that grenades spams only appear mostly in small maps.
Yeah I agree with you about the first strike medal, I like it but it shouldnt be in the top medal section. As for grenades my problem with them isn’t the damage but the radius and fuse time. Players can under throw you or over throw you and still get a kill and because of the fuse time some grenade can hang in the air and blow up after you thought the danger has passed. Hopefully for Halo 4 they reduced the radius, shortened the fuse time and increased its bounciness.
Not sure about everyone else but sometimes I swear it takes too long to set off since I’d stand there confused there waiting for it.
Got another one for yall. Was on BTB and was having a nice game, you know, enjoying the killing sprees and what not, I was 17 and 0, was going for perfection, THEN the dreaded black screen came. Once it came back, my kill streaks reset… so i continued on. I ended up going 45-0, which the in game kill count told me. Once i got to the menu it said i actually only had 28 kills. Mind you i still got my perfection and stuff but it would still make ya wanna killa man.

Was it BTB Heavies? Heavies gametype will give you additional points for certain kills. You’ll get 1 point for killing someone, but you’ll also get an additional point for headshotting him and so on.
