I acquired 9 Saw Kill Medals during that match, and they are only reported via the Game History API calls, not the service record calls (/stats/warzone), the same is true of arena. This started around 9pm EST last night.
Thank you Legundo and Xorth for reporting this issue. We’ve looked at your Service Record via the Public APIs and it now shows that you’ve earned 228 of that medal, so it looks like your aggregations are working.
We’ve spent some time looking in to this and it’s possible that what we’re seeing here is a side-effect of caching. We’re still working to improve our caching policies documentation, so apologies if any of this information comes as a surprise. In the Halo API version of the Stats service, there are two layers of caching that are coming in to play between our backend layer and our HTTP layer. On both of these layers, the caching expiration is a minute. Is it possible that your requests came in quickly (within a couple of minutes of each other)? We have plans to reduce and eliminate some of the caching that is currently present via the Halo API in the future.
If your requests had a significant amount of time between them, the other possible explanation is that there was a slight delay in processing the match.
Hopefully this helps. Let us know if you have any questions or if these possible explanations don’t line up. We want to make sure that we understand the issue. Thanks!
The issue here was detailed over half an hour, as shown in the screenshots. Those stats persisted throughout the night, refreshing sometime before 8am the following day. I had some users whose stats didn’t update for over 24 hours altogether, however as you said now things appear to be operating normally.
If this was a result of caching, could it have been interrupted by the deploy of the Hammer Storm update? The problems arose at around 9pm EST the evening of the deploy, and resolved three days later, possibly when some older cache was outdated or deleted. But this wasn’t just one or two matches, it was everything during those three days, updating at most once every 8-10 hours.
I hope that info helps a bit more, it was really odd to see honestly.
