What is the status of that Spartan prototype mech that precedes Master Chief (I think). I’ve seen clips from a cartoon where it is engaged in some very epic looking combat. I remember randomly seeing a drawing of it and wishing it was in the game. What is it doing now? These prototypes, are they just scrapped because of the Spartan II’s success? The only campaign’s I’ve beat are 1-3 and 4. I know very little of the lore despite playing the game since inception. But these recent sketches of the Spartans that were made for HW2 (the flame, snipe, shield, cryo, etc.) really captured my imagination. And despite how inappapropriate it was to make Johnson a mech based Leader with no Scarab I love his Hero unit (and the Colossus).
Do these things still exist in the lore? For example in another thread about these sketches someone brought up that the Spartans were supposed to be equipped in a relatively small sized suit of armor. Like that is part of the appeal, they pack all that punch into something that is basically man-sized rather than being a big clunky tank. I bring that up because some thought that the sketches for the Spartans were over-equipped and too large maybe.
In my opinion Halo Wars 2 has had some of the coolest designs in the franchise’s history and its made me a lot more interesting in the game’s story again.
