I honestly dont want them to back down from the new design. If there’s a legitamite reason HOW he got that armor, then I’m completely fine with it.

Agreed! I like the appearance of the new armor and they have an explanation for why John looks a little different since we last saw him. So it’s all good as I see it. But who knows what their going to do between the E3 reveal and the Release of the game.

I agree with this, if they decide that the cod piece is black, then at least make it so we can easily tell it’s a cod piece.

You don’t
If they keep that black square in his chest peace they should at least put something in it like maybe a light or something in it. That is one of my main reasons for not liking that chest. That empty square pisses me off. I do like most of the armor though, and I agree that they should have a damn good explanation for the new look. Also the mouth peace looks kind of stupid in my opinion, and the visor could look at least a little more like the old one. I like the shoulders. The arm guards and boots need to be better, the arm guards look incomplete and the boots look like they only have two metal plates on them and are not full boot. From the little glimpse we’ve seen of his back I like it but I need to see it a bit more to decide. That’s about all I have of a problem with the suit.

^ Agreed. Maybe make the helmet smaller and smoother so it looks a little more like the Halo 2/3 helmet. The change in the helmet is a little TOO much for my liking. But other than that Yeah. COD PIECE HAS TO COME BACK!

I agree with you.
At first I did not like the new cod peace but now I like it. It reminds me of similar concepts, and it actually doesn’t look that bad. But I really really hope that when we customize our multiplayer characters that we have a HUGE variety of different armor peaces(including cod peaces, gloves, maybe boots, everything that reach had and much much more) and different available areas to give separate colours. And for colours we should have to pay a cheap price for every colour once and then use all the colours for anything including the visor, maybe also have some new colours.

Have to say “this.” I do really like the armor, but the only thing that worries me about the chest piece is that it’s very rigid, which wouldn’t allow for many field upgrades. I loved how Reach brought realistic Spartans: ammo packs, backpacks and whatnot.
For the sake of continuity and reasoning, I think they need to stay with the same armor when he comes out of cryo-lock. It makes zero sense that his armor would change while in stasis.
If he meets up with the UNSC and they just happen to inform him that amongst all the galactic war that’s happening the designed, constructed and tested new MJONIR armor while he was away I might accept that.

If Guns was still alive and this happened Halo 5 would have an awesome beginning.

i dont mind what they do once it looks at least moderately like chief is supposed to look ill be happy, though i do really like the look of his new chest piece

I hated that. Reach’s armor was absolutely ugly because it left out anything sleek and futuristic which might conform to the human form (and provide something worth looking at for complimenting an already well established aesthetic) and replaced it entirely with toaster ovens and 9 volt batteries taped to our arms, chest, and head.
Pockets are fine (they make sense) but the rest Reach brought along with it really rubbed me the wrong way.

I just hope it’s explained in a good way instead of:
“Hey John there is some MKVII in a box that we have never seen before”
“ORLY? Well Imma put it on”
