"MCC will not have microtransactions"

343 promised us this as soon as they started updating the game, we need to HOLD them to this promise.

343 I understand the grind is insane, and I get you wanting to help the community make it a bit less tedious, here’s two words that’ll do just that: DAILY CHALLENGES.

1 Spartan point per challenge, 5 daily challenges for PvP and 5 for PVE, no microtransactions required.

DO NOT BREAK THIS PROMISE 343, KEEP IN MIND NOBODY IN THE HALO COMMUNITY WANTS MICROTRANSACTIONS, LET ALONE IN MCC, IT WILL KILL ANY POPULARITY THE GAME CURRENTLY HAS!!!

EDIT: The reason for the caps lock is to stress the importance of the message I’m trying to get along:

“343, Infinite isn’t dying because people don’t like it, Infinite is dying because people don’t like the STORE.”

343 if you add ANY kind of monetization to MCC you WILL kill the game, and maybe that’s your goal, if so, congrats you’re well on your way to destroying the last bit of good will you have the community.

However if not I STRONGLY urge you to think this over carefully before dedicating yourself to making this mistake.

Yeah these microtransactions seem innocuous, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. I definitely with everything you said; we need to make our voices heard and say that we don’t want this.

I’d recommend tweeting to 343 devs as politely as possible and explain us MCC players DO NOT want microtransactions in MCC AT ALL.

If getting more points to players is the goal there are many more/better ways to do that other than just flat out buying points. As you said above, daily challenges would be a good addition not to mention it would get more people to get on each day to do their dailies. Remove the 100 level cap with earning points and up the amount of points earned for each challenge just to name a couple examples.

This is 100% a greedy corporate move to try and milk more money out of Halo fans because Infinite is bombing and you can be sure that they’ll try to add different types of micros in the game on top of the Spartan points if people let 343 get away with this. I could see them eventually reworking the exchange more in tune to how Infinites store works where we would have to eventually buy armour pieces if it goes the route I’m getting concerned this may go.

Player progression means sweet diddily squat anymore in games because companies literally just let people pay their way through the game, which in turn negates any of the value any of the items have from players actually earning them.

I read the post and my immediate thought was “Wait a minute, if players don’t have enough time, why not make the system more player friendly?”

343, if the actual reason is something else, don’t lie to us. Most of us are adults.

Exactly! Plus I’m sure 343 thinks whales exist in MCC, meaning players who spend insane amounts of money, the reality is MCC is filled with more actual players. I hope 343 pulls back on this before they blow out their last bit of good will.

I dont have twitter; but my clan tag is now “PleaseNoMTX343” and I paste “343 Announced MTX for MCC today. Please submit a ticket / feedback!” at the start of every game.

Players complain that once you hit gold levels you can’t get points anymore.
Players complain that getting points every week is tedious with all the seasons.
343 responds by selling points to you instead of making points easier to earn.
Thanks 343. It is early enough that they might not do it, but if they do, they lose even more goodwill, what little is left…

I don’t want Halo to DIE from MICROTRANSACTIONS. I don’t need to test it to see if it’s good it MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT!!!

Microtransactions have NEVER been good for games.

yeah… the fact it was even concieved is an bad sign. like, are they really in need of money after as many MCC copies were sold, along with the major amount of people that baught the stupidly priced items in infinite?
i guess not! because the higherups at 343/ms don’t care. but should this really be surprising? i’d say so… this’s 343 we’re talking about. course they’d go back on their word. of course they’l put out trash… and of course this’l be leagues worse than it’l be because 343 listense to NOONE except for the army of yes-men defenders behind them.
but i’l keep playing until the update releases exposing the microtransactions… at that point. i’l save my harddrive space from the trash that is 343I’s greedy mindset. but hay, if they go back on their word… then fine, at least they listened. not gunna praise them as they thought about it in the first place

They fail to see that the Infinite playerbase and the MCC playerbase are one and the same going back and forth between the two games, most if not ALL of the new people that Infinite brought to the series already jumped ship into the next shiny thing and will continue to do so, they will not milk anything from MCC even if they add microtransactions because most of the players have already stuck with it for so long that they probably have 100+ spare points from just playing regularly… I don’t understand why would they even experiment with the THOUGHT of adding purcheable season points.

Players complain about gold levels not being available…then they could reward players more via leveling up…it’s not rocket science.

Players complain about challenges being ‘tedious’ then they should take a break. Challenges encourages people to keep playing so it helps with long term population.

Selling points…so people can instant unlock will make the system as bad as Halo Infinite.

what about commendations for points too

Yeah, about 343 and their “word” that at this point is not to be trusted. There is one thing I really don’t like about gaming companies that Bungie has abused this, actually, they stepped way over the line using this this last 6 years, and they actually hide behind it that they use it to justify their deliberate poor actions…

The license agreement, subject to change.

This means any company can say anything they want but they don’t have to follow through with their own words as anyone can easily look back at what 343 said was to be expected with infinite prior to it being released. (What they said, and what actually took place are 2 totally different things.) Never go by any companies word because you will always set yourself up for disappointment. It’s their actions that will literally show the truth of what’s to be expected.

There is one thing 343 can do to help earn that trust, and that is actually follow through with what they said about infinite prior to it being released. Until I see actual action which they have not shown yet to what they said infinite was to be, I have no reason to trust anything 343/Microsoft has to say, especially knowing what Microsoft has become and how they only look at the player base as a number, not a customer.

If MCC goes totally free to play, I wouldn’t really care if MTX’s get added tbh.

If 343 adds them, but also continues adding new maps and customization content into MCC as well, it will be mildly forgivable.

If they put out an update that just adds MTX’s and then stop future updates of the game, that would be a joke lol.

Man I am supremely foolish lol. I waited a few weeks to pick up season1 BP since surely they wouldnt let desync scuttle the chance to reach the promised land of wider audience. Ended season1 with level 100 BP and before the season ended I picked up MCC so I could let gamepass lapse indefinitely instead. Have not been on infinite since, and that has only been confirmed again and again as the right call. Way to make me feel like crap for supporting the grift with MCC just because I grew up on the halo franchise and enjoy precision/arena shooters.

Microtransactions were always a terrible idea for MCC, they are getting forced here because of criminal mismanagement of an IP in infinite. No one is not wise to this nonsense. Pretty shameful.

Agreed, I am against microtransactions in MCC

No, it won’t. Microtransactions are NEVER forgivable and f2p is a TERRIBLE game model.

Yes. That’s what I said. Give points as you level up like you did from the start. 343 enforced a dumb cut-off point.

Videogames are inherently a break though. A videogame, or any form of entertainment, should not feel like homework. Or if you’re behind on every season like me, it feels like a second job which is why I stopped playing for a while. Yeah, cosmetics are optional and blah, but part of the fun of Halo is playing dress-up. And seeing other players with cool items and you’re stuck on default feels like you’re being left out.

Yeah with infinite you can buy your way through a pass too. And then the whole store where you buy stuff you don’t want. And coatings so you have to buy coating after coating to get closer to the color scheme you want. MCC might be slightly better because there isn’t a store… yet… hopefully…
