MCC VS HALO 5

Hello all

i have been trying to find information around the web and unforntunatly cant find too much. I am a halo 3 player and just recently got xbox one and halo MCC. I am basically an online ranked player only. I guess i am asking is it worth buying and getting into halo 5 online or does h3 and halo 4 have a bigger player base on MCC. And if so is h5 competitly dead. Sorry i have just been out of the loop for a while any info helps

Halo 5 has the most active players. If you’re into campaign, I’d go with MCC. If you’re into multiplayer, I’d go with halo 5.

You’ll be able to find games in both games.

Mcc is still a broken mess with a near dead pop, personally I wouldn’t waste my time other than the campaign since it’s a collection of 4. H5 will have more players since it’s a newer game, but it has inferior gameplay to the mcc if you ask me.

I’d strongly recommend MCC for both multiplayer and campaign if you want a classic halo experience I’d recommend Halo 2 on MCC. Halo 5 is more of a shoot first, strategize later kind of game, pretty much the opposite of what Halo used to be and still should be.

The MCC if you want to relieve the old days and create now memories. It’s no longer broken, you can still find games.

Halo 5 is great. It’s personally my favorite Halo FPS to date.

Honestly, I’d get both of them if I were you!

Enjoy yourself, Spartan!

Halo 5 is awful. You basically need to play with a full party no matter what to even think about winning any game type. Playing solo will result in being put on -Yoink- -Yoink- teams

Thanks for the help guys. from what i have seen on youtube halo 5 seems a little dissapointing to me with its gameplay. Doesnt seem like halo

I was playing MCC last week while the update downloaded and I had no issues other than a longer wait time compared to H5.

Not true, you just have to get good. The higher you place, the better teammates you have. Also, FFA and Infection

If your an achievement hunter like myself the MCC is going to blow your socks off!

That’s great, but it doesn’t mean other people aren’t having problems. For example, I recently watched three videos of people encountering different bugs with the game at the end of last month.

MCC for the nostalgia factor. Halo 5 for the more robust multiplayer crowd.

MCC is a broken mess, and it was swept under the carpet when Halo 5 was released. There’s been zero content for MCC since 5 came out, only 5 or 6 remastered maps for H2A. And it’s pretty much dead now… you may be able to find a game, but good luck getting a lag free smooth experience. I tried it again the other week, had about 4-5 games. All of them were absolute trash. And when I say trash, I’m not being fussy and moaning that I lost or there was a tiny bit of lag. I’m talking about people teleporting all over the place, framerates dropping to the low 20s, it was awful. Halo MCC often uses P2P, which means that I could be playing on someone’s Xbox who is halfway around the world.

Halo 5 isn’t great for connection, but at least they’re still working on it. Still, it’s not a great experience either - I’m in the UK and routinely get matched up with people in far away countries, such as Mexico and Australia. The game is ghastly to play when going against people so far away. But to be fair, when Halo 5 plays well, it’s a great game. Way better than MCC, and if you’re looking for competitive Halo then it’s definitely the biggest title at the moment.

Op the best thing you could do is rent it and see for yourself. It really comes down to where your located and how close you are to a server. And to be honest the aim in H5 isn’t at all like previous Halo titles. Its a struggle in itself. If you like the feel of the older aiming I would pass on this. But again if at all possible rent it to really find out for yourself. That’s the best advice I could give. The MCC for me plays miles better then H5… Knowing what I know now I myself wouldn’t have purchase H5 just because of the poor performance. Im not bashing the game but if the performance isn’t there the rest doesn’t matter…

Zippy.

To some it doesn’t, to others it does. To me, it retains enough of the halo feel to be a halo game while also being extremely fun to play and something we haven’t really seen before. Be warned though, halo 5 is a tough game. After your 10 placement matches, you should be good though.
