I’ve reinstalled a few times, tried every compatibility mode under the sun and no results unfortunately. I believe the issue lies with Windows 11 compatibility. I can launch the game just fine but as soon as I try to join any multiplayer game the game just freezes up and instantly crashes. Customs and matchmaking are the same, will try firefight and campaign here in a minute.
Probably not much to do in terms of fixing it but in case anyone else on Windows 11 is having issues here’s your confirmation.
Just tried solo firefight and campaign and they seem to work fine. Looks like the issues lie with multiplayer and/or matchmaking. Sucks to be me on Windows 11 I guess lol

> Hello! I am having the same exact issue! I was wondering if there was anyone else on Windows 11 to confirm it was the cause. Thank you for posting.

> Hey, are you still having this issue? I installed the new beta channel build of Windows 11 yesterday and it seems to be working fine.
I switched to the beta channel and I am having the same issue. It will perhaps not crash upon loading maps for one session, but I just tried to play today and it crashed again when loading a multiplayer game. I am afraid to play at the moment when I may receive a prolonged ban.
does not work here either rolled back to Beta from Dev insider but the game keeps crashing while connecting a match…its easy anti cheat i guess also other easy anti cheat game have problems
I haven’t tried it in a bit, seems like other easy anti cheat games don’t work well either with Windows 11 either so perhaps that is the culprit.
Would make sense because I could still play campaign in MCC just nothing multiplayer.

I’ve had a devil of a time getting MCC to work for multiplayer in Windows 11 as well. After a bit of digging, when adding a buddy to a party, I received a version mismatch error. Turns out, my gamepass copy on Windows 11 doesn’t have the July hotfix. I’ve tried all of the goofy internet work arounds to force updates in the xbox app/microsoft store, but I think something is just broken with either (i) updates in the win11 microsoft store preview or (ii) more likely, the MCC listing in the microsoft store. If I go to the Microsoft Store, I get an “under construction” page when I navigate to anything that should be popping up for MCC. All other gamepass games that I’ve tested appear in the microsoft store and update fine, so I’ve got an odd feeling that the broken store listing in the Microsoft Store is what is causing the Xbox app/gamepass version not to take updates, which prevents you from finding a match with players on the current build.
I was able to play a multiplayer match today in Windows 11. I don’t know if they fixed something or if I stumbled into a solution at least for Game Pass players. No idea on Steam. This could also be dumb luck… but here is what I did. Curious to hear if this works for anyone else, or if I just happened to click around at the same time Microsoft/343 fixed it.
I pulled up Halo Master Chief Collection on the Microsoft Store Website here: Halo: The Master Chief Collection | Xbox - I clicked Install/Play - That opened the Microsoft Store Preview to the Halo: Master Chief Collection storefront page (which I could not find by searching in the Microsoft Store Preview, but when I click share within the preview store I got this link: Halo: The Master Chief Collection | Xbox) - I didn’t see an install or update button, but I scrolled down in the preview store and saw a section called “In this bundle” and I clicked Halo: The Master Chief Collection there (first one on the list, far left) - That pulled up seemingly the same Halo: Master Chief Collection storefront page but this time it had an update button! I clicked that and it launched the Xbox App and crazy enough it showed an update this time for Halo MCC. - Downloaded and installed update from Xbox App, launched Halo MCC, played Reach BTB no issues.EDIT: Screenshot of updated version number: Halo MCC Windows 11? - Album on Imgur

For steam Players, I found that if you activate a VPN (for me a Norton vpn) Multiplayer and everything works fine. Its so weird, but I miss halo :(. There are some instances where it will tell you that your latency is too high or something like that, but that the only workaround Ive found.
(FOR STEAM) Hey Guys I found a fix that Ive been repeating. I turn on My norton VPN, get into the game, on the loading screen, I turn off my vpn and it works fine without the vpn. Doesn’t matter if I close mcc and re open it. However I have to repeat the steps if I restart my pc. Also beware when you alt tab, sometimes mcc dissapears, so make sure you can alt tab or youll get stuck in a match and get ban for afk. Hope this helps someone!
