I almost exclusively solo queue but I do fall into the minority of players. I think team matching is important, but 343 hasn’t given any response to that feedback.
I’m curious if other people block teams of 4 when playing. There aren’t many talented teams of 4 that I see queuing nowadays.
Has there been any word from the MCC team on the state of matchmaking?
Looking at the steam charts will give you a partial idea of how’s the population currently.
I dont recall any comments, I’ll go back through the various news articles.
From what I’m hearing from the community, it looks like 343’s quit ban is a little too strict.
The quit ban is a terrible implementation. It shouldnt be every single game, then a player has a random crash or something happen and is punished.
There should be quit bans for serial abusers, but as is its pointless.
Its not that bad, I only search solo, never quit & just beat a team of 2-4. I played against you a few weeks ago & it was fun. My k/d is no doubt terrible, however I have tons of fun

343 removed party matching in social 4v4 quoting low population roughly 3 years ago (2-3 weeks prior to the MCC PC release). The ironic thing is that change ended up wearing down the population over the years to the dead game that it is now as most of the players for the most part stopped playing the game out of frustration with the matchmaking experience. There’s no way to retain players or attract new players or bring back old players with the current matchmaking experience. It’s just not fun and you’re at a disadvantage nearly every social match because you’re generally facing a team which ends up being a one-sided stomping for the most part. As long as that is the defacto experience nothing will change and the social population numbers will continue to decline.
The big problem with the rejoin feature is it does nothing if you disconnect before getting into the game.
When you games that range up to 20 years old you’re going to have serious veterans that want to play their game layered into matches with new players. There’s no avoiding it without having a massive population.
I want teams of 4 to be forced to play other teams of 4. But people also need to have realistic expectations when teams are not taken into account.

Yea like most things I ask for, it gets ignored. Glad Im not the only experiencing this garbage shoot. (Aint swearing, got one ban cause of this continuation).
Now players are getting toxic with this now. Got players sending messages and bagging me cause im getting stepped on.
I seriously cant keep this up anymore. Its ruined now.
It’s fairly common for these teams to bag and shoot bodies. I mean they stream it on Twitch… and yes I don’t see 343 doing anything – either removing quit bans and/or adding party matchmaking back. Nothing will change and no one will play the game and the population will continue to decline granted it’s already fairly dead.
Rule No. 1: Never feed the trolls
Strongly suggest if you’re frustrated to disable voice chat and text chat.
Another option would be to give us a setting/option to enable party matching so we don’t match a team of 3 or 4 when we play social 4v4 – at least for slayer modes like BR, AR, Snipers but I imagine people would want it objective too since these teams often stat (aka kill) in objective without even going for the objective and draw the game out.
Report players that don’t end the game when they clearly can. Its bannable.
Not only that, I’ve seen players doing trash movements such as leaving/rejoining when they’re about to die or get stuck with a plasma nade.
Same issue here. I hopped on earlier today and got 3 games straight in a row where my team got stomped into oblivion (50-~20 losses)
I was watching full teams searching on Twitch non-stop today and yesterday and often beating the other team sometimes with the other team getting 0-10 kills and never winning. This needs to be fixed by giving us an option to enable party matching on our end for those of us that don’t want to play games like that. There’s zero incentive or interest to get on this dead game otherwise because games like that constantly is not fun for anyone.
