MCC Season 8 Feedback

I feel like reach and H2A infection could use some fresh maps. Half of the maps causes a majority of the lobby to quit midgame because they’re not very fun maps.

Most playlists could use a map refresh. Either by adding more forge variants to playlists (like H2A swat) or changing up some legacy maps to be have more fair spawns (looking at you H3 Stand-off).

MCC: Halo CE Anniversary
Feedback: Classic HUD
Issue: Plasma Grenade on Classic HUD (S8) is notably different compared to the original Halo CE on Xbox, from 2001

Description:
The Plasma Grenade icon recreated in the Classic HUD of MCC: Halo CE (Season 8) is strikingly different compared to the original icon from the 2001 Xbox release.
The original icon was more visible, having a well defined, larger and brighter white center, with slight fading only towards the edge (contour), similar to an aura. In exchange, the recreated icon for the plasma grenade in the MCC Classic HUD is less visible when imposed over bright background, being way more transparent, with a very small and dimm white center and a very pronounced spherical, round shape (almost blueish), which sticks out from the lovely, meticulously recreated high-resolution Classic HUD.

Due to the nature of the issue, I hope that it will be an easy fix for a future update of Halo CE.
Congratulations on the brilliant work done so far in restoring the original look, sound and feel of the first two Halo games!

Games:

  • Reach - H3 - H4I feel like this is a suggestion more than a feedback, but with the addition of new armors i think it kinda makes sense.
    I was thinking that with all the armors and customization options that are in the game, wouldn’t it be cool if they added “armor loadouts”? For example; I love the ODST armors for H3, but I also want to try using different armor pieces or changing the whole thing sometimes, and if i want to come back to my older armor, changing piece by piece every time can be a bit annoying, specially now that we have like 20 options for each piece. So i would like if they added the options to have more armor sets for Reach, 3 and 4, so when I want to change my appeareance from ODST to Medieval, or having every Noble team armor set, it´s an easier process.

Random example, but It´s kinda like what we have in TF2, you can have different cosmetics In different loadouts, but you don´t need to change them one by one:

This is definitely the lowest priority of MCC content, but I noticed that the garbage truck from Halo 3: ODST recycles assets from Sandtrap’s elephant. I don’t know if I’d want a budget put towards making skins for the lesser-used elephant compared to other weapons and vehicles, but using those assets could make for a cute alternate cosmetic for the vehicle that’s already almost complete. Additionally, the turrets it has would be compatible with Warthog skins.
As an alternative, it’d be incredibly fitting as an Avalanche option, fitting alongside the white warthog and mongoose.

Regardless, more forge variants of Sandbox and Avalanche with Elephants would be a fun addition to BTB gametypes.

Halo 2 Classic:

Bumpmapping, shadows, colours and minor things like snow on Lockout have been restored. I am sure everyone is glad for that. However, Season 8 update has brought a new issue, which relates to boxes disappearing and getting stuck on the map Elongation.

I want them to at the very least add the 7 still unreleased Halo Online sets from Halo 3’s Season 5 files, they were some of the nicest sets like Operator, or at least had an interesting look like Defender and Spectrum.

Despite having all new customization turned off, I still see these medieval helmets in Reach multiplayer. Anyone else experienced this?

Q PENA, QUE Halo The Master Chieff colecctions, cuando jugamos cooperativo cualquiera de sus campañas, la pantalla, se corta, perdiendo espacio de vision a la derecha y izquierda con espacios Negros , viendose la imagen total cuadrada en una pantalla de 16:9. Estaria increible: jugar cooperativo offline a pantalla partida, y que aprobechase toda mi Televisión. Ojala hicierais un parche: para jugar campaña cooperativas offline, pantalla partida, y que aprobeche toda la pantalla 16:9.

Viewmodel Offsets

Thank you so much for putting this feature in the game. I’m finally able to make most of the weapons in each Halo game look good. The only issue I have as someone prior to this has mentioned is that it would be nice to be able to customize the viewmodel for each individual weapon. The range of values provided are fine as they are. I am able to make each weapon look good with the values provided.

However, since multiple weapons are all tied together under one category making one say “rifle” like the AR look good will make another “rifle” like the shotgun for example look bad. I agree that an “advanced” tab for each category of weapons that allows each individual weapon belonging to said category to be tweaked individually if necessary would make the feature perfect.

Skulls

As others have mentioned, please add every skull to each game that doesn’t have them. I’d love the bandana skull to be available in all the games like ODST, Halo 4 (and even Halo 5 wink wink) because i always run out of ammo for my favorite weapons in each of those games making their campaigns less enjoyable than the earlier Halos that either already have the bandanna skull or have more ammo lying around in the sandbox.

HDR

Please add HDR support to the PC version of MCC. The HDR on the console versions makes these games truly pop and look gorgeous. Would be great for us PC gamers to get in on some of that high dynamic range.

Sound/Audio

  • Please fix Halo 2 classic audio quality and mix.

  • Would be nice to have more control over audio for the 2 Anniversary campaigns.

For Halo CE and Halo 2 campaigns in the in game audio settings menu and in the main campaign menu prior to launching a campaign add two audio options:

Sound FX: Classic or Anniversary
Music: Classic or Anniversary

This way we can have whatever version of music and sound fx with whichever graphics mode we are in.

But while playing the campaign, using the back button to switch between Anniversary or classic mode both the corresponding anniversary/classic music and sound fx should override whatever settings we’ve set in the menus. So if I customize the audio in the menus to my liking in classic mode and then return to the game and use the back button to switch to anniversary mode the audio settings for both sound FX and music should also revert to anniversary along with the anniversary graphics regardless of whatever settings I’ve set in the audio menus.
This way we can completely customize our audio and graphics to our liking. If we want anniversary graphics with classic sound FX and anniversary music we can do that through the in game menu. If we want classic graphics with anniversary sound FX and anniversary music we can do that through the in game menu just to name a few ways of the possible ways to mix and match.

But if we just want to switch back and forth between anniversary/classic mode using the back button, it will always override our menu audio settings because the audio for both anniversary/classic music and sound FX is always tied to the corresponding Anniversary/classic mode ( but ONLY when using back button) similar to how using the back button switches graphics/audio in Halo 2 Anniversary right now. This way, we can still compare and contrast Classic vs Anniversary sound and graphics on the fly if we want to do it that way.

toggle operates on a game by game basis in the menu’s, however it should be noted that toggling Reach will also toggle off the restored legacy DLC Armor (not sure if it’s a bug or intentional though, since they’ve made no official statement)

Same! Despite the fact that the amount of Halo 3 content has been overwhelming, I’d want their inclusion more than any other addition yet. I don’t want those pieces (or maps, for that matter) lost to time.
Heck, I’d say the same for the armor abilities too if they were viable in some way. Maybe as equipment items since they’re more intense than Reach armor abilities and might kill the balance.

Some people’s fileshares have been wiped. Are you guys able to restore the files?

Thousands of hours of content have been wiped across multiple accounts. Remember some users store maps in their file share due to local file storage limitations.

If they don’t have a local copy and their file share is empty then their content is lost unless another player has it.

Forge users who have multiple xbox accounts to host their maps in fileshares have lost their content.

Players looking for content from these forge creators can’t access it.

Please can you guys address the fileshare system and hopefully restore these users content so everyone can enjoy their work.

On this note, I’ve noticed that on the MCC>Halo CE classic graphics, at the ending cutscene, where the Halo ring explodes in outerspace, there is now sound for the explosion, whereas in the OG Xbox 2001 game there was no sound (being in void). Perhaps this sound was carried over from the Anniversary version and as others have pointed out for the plasma grenade charging sound in the game and the flying pelicans in The Silent Cartographer level introduction. anyone having problems with the destructible/non destructible environment such as boxes on elongation or explosive coil boxes on colossus having weird spawning issues?

like on elongation basically all the boxes stay in the spawn and glitch into each other.

the coils on colossus basically drop and stay at spawn and clog up that little conveyor belt where you can jump up at.

I unlocked the blackguard ashen helm and can’t use it for some reason. It’s still locked when I go to equip

Actually all the blackguard that I’ve unlocked are still for some reason showing locked. Idk if it’s cuz I have the flaming helm effect or what

Anyone else see that golden airborne elite on MCC Reach? Is this a bug or an Easter egg? Or just something I never noticed before?

Incredible job on the fixes for H2. Absolutely stunning! I have noticed cutscenes for H2 alternate between 30 and 60 fps though. Can you please check on this?
