(MCC in general)
Overall, I’m really enjoying this season, and I’ll list what I like and don’t like about it.
Moa Statues: Plain and simple, they’re a good hunt for weekly challenges, or when you’re just playing through the campaign and stumble across one.
Season 8 armors: I’m not going to be the first to say this or the last, but they admittedly are pretty damn cool, although they don’t fit into halo 3’s multiplayer as well. Obviously, there’s the new customization option, which solves that issue, though I don’t really mind seeing them in the multiplayer and haven’t disabled new customization.
Reach is a bit different, the helmets aren’t way too wacky (We don’t need to talk about Forsaken Dragon) and don’t mess with the style of the game all too much, however, the Belos helmets (Heran, Syntrofos, & Kerata specifically) don’t blend in all too well with Reach’s armor customization, but I can’t really describe what seems odd about those 3.
Challenges: The changes made to weekly PVE/PVP challenges aren’t really in many’s liking. A lot of the challenges such as “Skullduggery” and “Pinpoint” don’t grant season points anymore, as well as ranking up I believe. (I’m not sure if you stop getting points when you reach tour 5, or if it was entirely removed as I only reached tour 5 right at the end of Season 7.) The seasonal challenges however bring quite the grind, giving me something to do while I have pretty much nothing else to do at the most convenient time. Props to that.
A few questions I have:
Seeing as Season 8 is going to be the last season for the MCC, what about unlocking new customization? This is a bit more specific to Reach, seeing as the only thing you can customize when you’re a new player/weren’t there for S1, is your spartan’s armor color. (I only made it about two pages in before my dad came down a bit late for Christmas of 2019, who I didn’t get to see for 7 years.) Obviously, 343 isn’t going to repeat entire seasons, so that’s out of the question, but will they be adding stuff from previous seasons, as they did with the Mister Chief Mariner last season (which by the way, pissed me off after having to do all that bug-fixy stuff lol) after Season 8 ends? Some people are more concerned about the obtainability of items from previous seasons, flexing now unobtainable items, while newer players are stuck with default Six.
I’m fully aware the vast majority of people are going to be grinding on Halo Infinite when it releases on December 8th, but there’s going to be those swapping between games every now and then, and those who would prefer to remain on the MCC.
When will the flood be added to ODST firefight? I know they were delayed due to them being rather buggy in the flights, as well as post-match stances/poses, but is there an approximate/exact date, or general idea of when they will be added? I kinda live under a rock, so my bad if some of these questions have already been answered.
Suggestions:
Mod tools; will they/should they be added to the Windows 10 version of the game? I bought the MCC before it launched on PC, and played on Xbox for a while. Point is, I own the Microsoft store version, which is not the sharpest tool in the shed. (considerably, the dullest tool in the shed) I’d prefer not to spend another $40 just to get it again on Steam, which almost would be worth the money. (~$15 on sale)
H2A: I’ve already seen answers as to why it hasn’t been receiving as much attention, but maybe, just maybe give the multiplayer a little bit more attention.
“Daily Shop”: Something similar to the exchange except it’s daily (as the name describes), which contains items from previous seasons for those players who maybe aren’t too savvy of the current season. That, or just do that with the exchange I guess.
Special items in Infinite for task completion in the MCC, similar to how Halo 5 had the Helioskrill (which tragically lost its value), and the Mark VI gen 1/scarred helmets.
That’s just about it, sorry if I made this a bit long and a headache to read.
