MCC Season 8 Feedback

I have some feedback that might be a tad controversial:

While playing, I noticed that the Brute Plasma Rifle has had a lot of design changes compared to the standard Plasma Rifle in each game, with purple and red lights in Halo 2, standard Plasma Rifle lights in Halo 5 and ODST, and a mix in Halo 2: Anniversary. ODST and 5 have the standard lights because these games don’t have standard Plasma Rifles unlike the others. Since the Halo 3 Brute Plasma Rifle is inherited from ODST, this means it’s easy for new players to confuse a Brute Plasma Rifle for a standard Plasma Rifle skin. For example, both the Brute Plasma Rifle and the Plasma Rifle schism skin have the same light color with an altered color variation of the same area on the gun’s shell. I think the lights for the Brute Plasma Rifle in Halo 3 should be modified to match Halo 2, rather than Halo 3: ODST to help new players understand that it’s a different weapon, rather than a skin. This also provides a potential opportunity for Brute Plasma Rifle skins, such as the Sorrow of Teash or Scale of Soirapt designs from Halo 5 without letting players confuse the two.

I also think the Roadkill Rampage and Rock and Coil Hit Back should have their game specific requirements removed, and be applicable to all games, potentially even without a matchmaking requirement. Splatter and Environmentalist medals in Halo 2: Anniversary’s matchmaking aren’t very accessible, and, unlike most Halo 2: Anniversary achievements, these two don’t mimic or parallel Halo 2 Vista achievements.

And, since the Environmentalist medal isn’t in other games, I think it’d be really neat if it was added to them too. Partly to denote the player’s progress in the aforementioned achievement, but mostly because it’s such a fun and rare opportunity. Getting that extra bonus would be super nice.

So I’m liking the new armour so far I liked it in the flight too which I’m kicking my self for not bringing it up then but my main issue that the new armour doesn’t really mesh well with the other armor pieces. No I’m not saying it doesn’t belong in halo3
It’s more so your kind of pigeon holed into mixing and matching the season 8 armor with each other
Ie. Dengar with Bellos and blackgaurd.
The only helmet I think kinda works is Hayabusa
But that’s about it. Other wise it looks silly like you can’t have an Viking odst or a mark v Knight.
I think you should have taken more inspiration from Hayabusa where it was a bit exotic but still fit the art style. No like the new armour kind keep it’s same general design but be the texture could line more up with the h3 armor textures. Idk hope that makes since Im no very good at coherent thoughts

Suggestion:

Add animated nameplate banner customization with Sgt. Johnson smoking the cigar in the exosuit/mech from the Johnson Halo Wars 2 concept.

Halo Online has a ton of features that probably wouldn’t translate well to Halo 3 on MCC: Sprint, armor abilities, assassination animations, weapon variants, and menu geometry, among others. It’d be nice if all this was used for creator content. The latter could be used as a Forge template map: Anvil Station looks like a 3D model, akin to most Halo 3 menus, and has a lot of cool and interesting scenery in its structure and layout. The other assets could be added to the Halo 3 modding tools. Players would have a heck of a time changing variant tags to create new custom weapons, or hiding the Halo Online gold variants as easter eggs in their own custom maps.

I would love to see the Prowler full of Brutes on maps like Lost Platoon in ODST FF.

Halo Online weapon and vehicle variants could be made into skins for H3, the armor abilities, weapons/vehicles as well as the ElDewrito forge improvements could be added to H3 forge (maybe with a toggle to switch between OG H3 forge and ElDewrito, for the puritans). The assassination animations could be added to Reach/H4 as they already have those and would get new content by doing so. Diamondback would also fit perfectly into Reach, while Reactor and Skybridge should also be added to H3.
And yeah all assets from halo online should be added to the modding tools

Feature Request: Customize HUD Elements Position

I would like to customize the position of the HUD elements for all MCC games. Currently, the only way to do this is using “HUD Anchoring” which can move the elements either to the center, or to the edge for ultrawide displays. When I use my 65" tv I find it difficult to get a good look at my radar since it is so far from the center of the screen.

Could I please request a feature that all MCC games allow us to customize the location of the HUD elements using a slider, similar to what is shown in the “Halo infinite PC Overview” video at the 2 minute marker?

Here is a link just in case:

This would be a great feature for the MCC. Please let me know your feedback and if anything needs clearing up.

> My friend and I have both have several crashes where the Xbox just turns off/restarts itself while finding a game in the Custom Game Browser.

That sounds more like a problem with the console having an issue playing the game. Have you had issues like this in other games on your Xbox?

I don’t know if this is all that relevant but had been wanting options for how some of the HUD in Halo 4 is displayed so you can set it to look more like the older games as the HUD can sometimes be jarring when you’ve been mostly playing the older games. Particularly I’ve been getting bothered by where the weapon and armor abilities are displayed.

How is the Splatter medal in H2A not very accessible. I mean it still has a ton of vehicles even in multiplayer, so I don’t understand what makes it less accessible. I do agree with you about adding the Environmentalist medal to the other games as I don’t know why it wasn’t in the other games to begin with and it would make the medals more universal throughout the games.

The Halo Online DMR and weapon variants could be directly added to Halo 3’s forge as new weapons since they don’t conflict with anything already there, so long as they don’t add the base variants (aside from the DMR)
Sprint might also be doable, at the very least it could be added as a settings option for ODST since the animations might be able to be applied to the bipeds.

'Cause I am having one heck of a time connecting to an 8v8 game in 2A, let alone one with cars. Purely selfish though, not as important as the Environmentalist medal. There also isn’t a general “get a bunch of splatter medals or vehicle kills” achievements like there are for other medals throughout MCC so it might benefit that feeling of progression players get. If you’ve had better luck than I do in matchmaking then I’ll want to borrow some of it.

Oh that’s smart. I was worried about menu cluttering for the weapons in Forge, but it could just be in its own tab. Considering the night vision isn’t even viable in half the ODST firefight maps and how often Covenant spawn on opposite sides, sprint’s application could definitely benefit the game.

Exactly what I was thinking. Being able to select between VISR and Sprint in the Firefight player settings would benefit players on maps like Security Zone or Lost Platoon, where VISR is almost completely useless, it’s very possible to get trapped in spawn, and the maps can become too big to manage (Lost Platoon in particular if the vehicles are destroyed.)

A “Special Variants” Tab in Halo 3’s forge would be an effective way of organizing the Halo Online weapon variants, keeping them separate to the “Base Weapons” such as the Halo Online DMR and any of the weapons originating from ODST and Halo 3 (or they could just update the menu’s to do as Reach does and add sub menu’s to the weapon types, like select UNSC to bring up all of the UNSC weapons and variants, select Covenant to bring up all the Covenant weapons and variants, etc.)

Yeah I’ve made sure that I’ve turned the Reach option off, as well as all of the others too. I did this several times as suggested elsewhere yet I still see these helmets. Thanks for the help regardless.

I was really hoping that H4: Spartan Ops would be fixed this update. I aware it is on the known issues list but I would like to more about when it might get fixed as I’ve been waiting over a year to play it again.

Again Please Add Support for Mixed Input. At least for campaign and co-op.
It takes like 5 seconds to switch from mouse to controller.

Framerates are still choppy for CEA and H2A on One X. Can you please fix this problem? As I see it, you guys have resolved almost every major problem and complaint for these two games, save for the framerate problem. Perhaps now is the time!

I hate that the medals in Halo 2 are still so tiny.

sooo… no more exchange items for now? not even rotating the previous ones like in previous seasons when the exchange content completed a full rotation cycle? why tho?

Don’t care for the armor, but PLEASE do something about the multiplayer balance. Its completely out of whack, both in social and competitive queues.

There needs to be a feature to opt out from party matchmaking, I’m sick of coming up against 4-stacks in H3 Slayer and being dominated because the rest of me teammates don’t understand that Slayer is a team based gamemode. It is simply not fair to have parties against solo queuers, as they have an immediate advantage. The lobby rank-matching is attrocious too. I’m never matched with near-enough equal skill players. Either I am against/with players 10+ ranks higher, or 10+ ranks lower, which means landslide games (be that wins or losses). It’s not fun or fair, and I’m confident a lot of other players think the same.

Stop giving resources to development of skins and armor pieces when there are huge gameplay issues that NEED resolving. It’s a waste of time.
