This is the “known reverb” issue on several maps causing ambient sounds to be over-bearing and not consistent with the game.

It is ridiculous that players are fixing these obvious issues before 343 even acknowledges they exist. They flat out refuse to acknowledge the issues with CE while doing asinine things like -Yoinking!- with the SOUND that was one of the VERY few aspects of the game that WASNT completely broken and now it is. It’s just unbelievable that they don’t have time to acknowledge our constant pleas to fix the game but they have time to think about -Yoinking!- up the sound.
this is why people are doubting infinite and I don’t blame them

It’s also ridiculous that I actually said “It’s like they added HRTF audio and have it enabled by default”, the exact thing that they did, the day it happened! Sad someone like the bo had to encourage me to actually try it, and to get a anti-cheat flag because of it is even more confusing. Like, why? No other game would flag that as anti-cheat tampering. Other games have it as an option under headphone audio.
If this helps you I did what you asked, just fyi user.cfg and UI options are the problem. Dxdiag from pc will give zero important info when the issue is all all updated MCC builds on all platforms.
Then another question arises: what happens if I decide to connect EAX through Creative ALchemy (to the halo1 folder), and then the anti-cheat will ban me for this?
P. S. yes, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Z audio card with EAX 5.0 support.

You can do that no problem. EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) Will never flag any .exe that’s a known “safe” program (non trojan-injected cheat) for anti-cheat violation. Creative has verified drivers through Windows 10/Microsoft. The rule of thumb here with any anti-cheat to help you out is that if Windows Defender/Chrome/Firefox allows you to download, install etc without issue it’s safe, period. The .cfg file editing is literally just changing UI options, but without being in-game so it flags it as tampering because they don’t have the UI setup yet, so it was a bad release and they know this by quoting the “reverb” in known issues.

Here the problem is not in the .exe itself, but in the fact that in this case it puts two files in the folder - dsound.dll and dsound.ini. This is the only thing that confuses me.

So are you saying that you checked before the update and found only 1 sound file of the two you mentioned? If so can you try to give us some more details, nothing personal just like what specific files, remember we aren’t 343 just trying to get this under control.
