You are dead on, the right thing to do is to give a discount at the very least on Halo 5 as they basically did falsely advertise the game as it was only “playable” but certainly not complete by any stretch of the imagination.
But, the right thing to do is not the legal or financially profitable thing. So we see the character of the people who work at 343 for not doing the right thing.
The unfortunate thing is the only way to see and play the halo universe is to buy halo 5. You’ll never win, corporations are too big at this point that for every person that boycotts 10 more will buy in their place, its sad.

You got a month of xbox live. You got ODST. If you don’t like 343, or MCC, or Halo, or whatever, then you don’t have to play. But when people go on about being “compensated” and “give me this or that and that’ll make it all okay…” That’s garbage. Your moral outrage is completely undermined by the admission that you can be bought off. And even without the unseemly element of greed masquerading as righteous indignation, the truth is that MCC cannot ever be what we’d like it to be or what we paid for with our cash, and there is no point in pretending that we have any option other than to take it and move on. Maybe that means moving on to Guardians, maybe it means moving on to something other than Halo. That’s up to you. But don’t pretend this is anything more than a bad business deal. Learn from it, yes. But don’t make it out to be the end of the world.
I could go on and on but basically, 343 is BS. A lot of people bought the Xbox One for this game, and it has been inexcusable what we’ve gotten in result of paying them money. There is no reason why we can’t play our favorite past games. To remake what was already created in the past isn’t a huge project. Yet, somehow, they failed miserably. MCC let down the Halo community, and I for one is done with the Halo series. They could have fixed it if they wanted to, but they are a bunch of sleezes, all in it for the money and don’t care about the quality they are putting out.
I’ll just try to remember all of the good experiences from the past and move on.
