A possible workaround to the “contacting server: contacting the server to get the latest matchmaking data.” error that cannot be cleared by any of the following:
Logging out of XBL by switching profile;
Creating a new live account;
using a VPN;
changing DNS;
uninstalling/reinstalling MCC;
disabling/reenabling NIC;
verifying game;
deleting credentials in credentials manager…
Well this error does NOT prevent you from directly joining a server such as a game a friend is in or those publicaly listed at https://halobase.net
Hope that helps some of you who like myself have been out of the game since the last update since 343 has not issued any patches to fix this issue that has existed since launch and has now encompassed my own game that was previously working fine.
Holding my breath that the official server browser they’re working on fixes this…
