MCC PC voice and text chat not working

SOLUTION FOUND

For some reason text and voice chat wont work for me, I have it set to all but only people in my party can read my messages or have my messages read, we tried testing it out where I was in a lobby with some guys by joining through one of them and none of them could read what I wrote nor could I read what they wrote or said in voice chat. Team chat and all chat both don’t work and I have no clue how to get it working any suggestions?

im gonna go ahead and say, same here. anything i type in chat doesnt come up for my party members, and my voice chat doesn’t work when i click the button for it either. fix please?

LOL same. it just happened an hour ago and i dont see it getting fixed anytime soon. Mod responded on other post telling kid to “submit ticket” like we all havent already. GG

For those of you wondering reinstalling the game does not fix it

Also chatting with people in my party wont even work anymore so now thats a problem too

Alright guys I have found the solution at least for me, when I set up my account a while back I had accidentally set my accounts birth date to past 2000 instead of before (I never put in real information) because of that the game would not allow me to chat with other players who were off my friends list so the problems that you all are experiencing may come from a privacy setting. While I could change it I dont feel like putting any more time into figuring out how the adult/child accounts work and also dont feel like continuing using a account with all these restraints on it so I just made a new one, my old 360 is unusable and I dont feel like replacing it so I dont have much need for this old account anymore, hope this helps all of you.

Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites****Decide who on Xbox Live to communicate with using voice and text, and who sends you invitations to parties, games, or clubs.
By default it is set to block.

I’ve tried all of this and it still wont work for me. Mic works on any other game and party chat… Its only mcc and its really really annoying. Use to be I had to unplug mic and shut of controller then reconnect and it would work. Why isn’t 343i addressing the issue

  • Double check your xbox privacy setting as mentioned above. - Make sure the multiple locations in the in-game settings menus are set to allow text chat for not just squad-only comms. - Make sure the key is bound to something safe, like J for example. Many keys will not work because the keybinds conflict with other interface operation hotkeys. - But what finally fixed it for me was closing the game, deleting this file:%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\input.ini

and then relaunching the game. New update changed how this file is handled. My file was corrupted due to the binds I used with the old version of the game conflicting with the new things in this file.
