Who else is agitated that it has been 2 years now waiting on split screen PC. No word since last year. Can someone from 343 please address wether this is coming or not? Feel free to chime in with your thoughts everyone!

Yes please, this was one of the things that was said MCC PC will have and never got, all the way back during the Reach Flights.

Nucleus Coop exists for local play. It’s telling that 343i hasn’t said anything about it in a long time. I don’t think it will be officially supported on PC in MCC, so this mod will probably be the only option.

Yeah it’s pretty dumpy how little they seem to care about co-op, for PC split screen, cross compatibility, and Halo infinite.
Co-op campaign was halo to me for years.

Same here. Even though it is possible to play on Lan, having to own multiple PCs, multiple steam accounts, multiple copies of the game, and sturdy Wi-Fi makes things extremely difficult and inconvenient. The biggest thing I want split-screen for is the campaign. But being forced to play on lan for campaign sometimes is a nightmare (Especially when playing Regret on legendary), due to constant lag and disconnections forcing you to start all over again. It’s not quite as bad for the multiplayer though, but sometimes the disconnections are annoying, not to mention that the lag gives the host a MASSIVE advantage, causing the host to cease fire until connection picks up again.

But doesnt that mod require you to have like 4 Xbox lives accounts and to install Halo MCC up to 4 times on your computer?
I’d like to hope they’re planning it for later. In the flow of development, it’d be an easier element to add to existing updates, rather than something to apply updates to, if that makes sense. I believe some split-screen players struggle on Xbox so I imagine it’ll be a big focused update. It’ll also help for matchmaking times, something that’ll be more important as Halo Infinite grows in its life cycle.

I think that was an older version. You only need to use one Xbox Live account and I never heard anything about installing the game 4 times. The mod works by multi-boxing, which is to run multiple copies of the game at the same time. I’d assume that means you either have to turn the graphics down for each user or to turn it down on the main account so that it gets copied to the others. If you’re interested I’d strongly recommend taking another look because it was significantly improved some time ago, though I never got deep into the details myself.
100% split screen needs to return and ideally have the option to pick horizontal or vertical.

I would freaking love if they would add split screen to PC because if I want to connect a second controller to cheese something in campaign or whatnot I have to log all the way out and boot it up on my Xbox 
That’s how I beat Halo 3 on legendary WAAAY back in the day is because I put a second controller on so I can respawn lol.
I also want to see OG menus return, and an option to select which menu you want. If I could recommend something else, I want an option to turn off audio in the background for when I alt+tab.
nope, before you needed a couple of xbl account but now you don’t.
you wont get split screen on PC because PC doesnt pay for xbox live and if you had 2 setups what would stop you from farming challenges doing 2v2s or 4v4s all day? the PC community would be doing this nonstop with macros if they added it so they deserve to go without.
They’ve already confirmed they’re bringing back splitscreen, thank god. I have my computer hooked up to my TV so we’re in dire need of splitscreen it’s a vital part of Halo.
Pretty sure that’s for infinite. Do you have any proof of that being the case for MCC?
343i already bans players who do that because it’s already possible to get friends and do that. Also, PC players don’t have to pay for gold membership. That’s an Xbox-exclusive subscription. Other PC games just have that by default, usually by letting PC players host the servers themselves.
It’s on their MCC to-do list, I don’t know how to find it, sorry.

The day I see split screen on MCC or Infinite is the day they will get another dime from me. It is an essential part of the Halo experience that has been overlooked for far too long. The fact that there are still active threads to implement it 2 years later shows that people are not just going to forget about it.

Did you read the part where I said they don’t pay for xbox live?? They would have to ban alot more people if any pc account could be created and farmed…
It was on the list December of last year pending further discussions. The last dev update they released with a bullet list of features makes no reference to PC split screen at all. It is not coming
