I’ve come here because I’m not sure where else to go. Halo Support has been a colossal failure for me. So my MCC on PC has ridiculously slow load times. I’ll be sitting at the scoreboard prior to loading into a game while everyone runs around me and grabs weapons which I could have gotten had my game loaded me in at the same time as everyone else. When I do load in, my game stutters and is unplayable. I can’t play matchmaking anymore. I’ve tried uninstalling from Steam and reinstalling 4 times. My PC specs are fine (1660ti and a Ryzen 5 3600). I’ve never had issues with the games performance up until a month ago. I moved from Xbox to PC a year ago and have played MCC just fine up until recently. I’m not sure what to do or how to solve this problem. If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated. Otherwise, my Halo is unplayable and I’ll have to wait for Infinite.
Oh, and don’t get me started about the game randomly disappearing when I alt tab out.
You’re definitely not alone on this one man. I haven’t had it where I join into games late in a really long time but the stuttering and frame drops I’ve been getting constantly lately. Honestly, it’s been since the Halo 4 update back in November and then it got even worse as of the latest update for Season 5. I’ve tried literally everything and nothing has helped. I submitted a ticket for this back in November when Halo 4 came to PC and I’ve done it again a few days ago. I really hope something is done about this. There’s no reason I should be going to below 60 fps ever on any of the games. I’m constantly going below 50 fps on Halo 3 even, like what? I can run them all at 120 fps no problems but something behind the scenes has completely destroyed the performance of these games and I’m not sure what it is.

Thanks for the reply to at least assure me that I’m not alone. I wish we could get some responses from Halo Support or something. It’s odd too because some of my friends don’t experience this issue at all. I really don’t know what to do, except maybe wait every for every single update to hopefully stop whatever is happening. This leaves me pretty scared for Infinites launch on PC as well.
For sure bro, if I manage to find something that fixes it, I’ll let you know. They haven’t really officially said anything which sucks a lot. This last update completely destroyed the game for me, the stuttering is so bad. There’s no reason my frames should be worse than they were before, or worse than they were on my OG Xbox One. Hopefully it gets fixed soon because it’s hella frustrating… I’m definitely a bit more scared/worried for Infinite on PC after this, but I hope everything gets addressed soon.
Bro I got the same issue. My halo 3 will load up so slow and I’m black screen while the game starts and my friends and everyeone else is running around. I play some halo 1 as well and it never really has happened with H1. Also, I can’t text chat in game. I can’t hit start then left-click and pull up text chat (which I’ve read is another common issue among others as well). This game is new on PC but it’s a mess tbh. What should I do? I also tried fixing it on steam or reinstalling it.
Same here, posted the issue on november and got no reply, just posted it again

I’ve found a fix. It was my audio driver.

Outdated audio driver was causing my issue. Check yours.

Not sure if you’re still having this issue man, but I updated my audio driver on MSI’s website and it fixed my issue completely.
for me I fixed this issue by going into my Nvidia control panel and turning the shader cache off, maybe this’ll help someone

head to your motherboards manufacturer website and check on your drivers. MSI Global - The Leading Brand in High-end Gaming & Professional Creation, Here’s what mine looks like. If you have an MSI motherboard maybe this could help?

(6.0.9102.1) This is the latest audio driver number from Realtek
Thank the Rings I found this thread, you guys have really helped me out here.
Updated my audio drivers and got nothing, but turning Shader Cache off in Nvidia Control Panel fixed it. This has been bugging me for months, thank you all so much.

Well, it did nothing
