My MCC is not syncing, it get up to 89% and then says its unable to sync.
I have tried everything from disabling my antivirus/firewall, singing in and out of Xbox companion, re-installing the game, and still the issue continues.
Does anybody know any other solutions or reasons why this is happening to me?
I imagine you are playing on PC correct? What operating system are you using and which version of MCC are you launching (Steam // Microsoft Store - Paid // Microsoft Store - Game Pass)?
The first thing I would try is to unplug your modem / router for about 30 seconds and then retry. If this doesn’t work, let me know which platform you are playing on and we can try some other troubleshooting steps!
Yes I am on PC,
I am using the Microsoft Store Version - PAID, I am using W10 Home, fully updated. I will try the modem and report back.

The modem/router restart did not fix it, it works fine on my steam version
Very interesting that it works fine on Steam Version but not on Microsoft version. Let’s try to do a full re-sync and see if that helps. Please note that by doing these steps it may reset any un-synced campaign progress, settings, and temporary/private files, as well as un-equip your customizations. You will not lose these customization items; you will just need to re-equip them.
- Close Halo: The Master Chief Collection if it is running. - In File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\MCC - Copy the “MCC” folder here and save it to a safe location as a backup, then delete the original folder in “LocalLow” - In File Explorer, go to C:\Users[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Chelan_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData - Backup the contents of this folder then delete everything in it. - Disconnect from the internet. - Restart Halo: The Master Chief Collection. - Change some of your Settings and make a Customization change. This will generate new custom save data. - Start up any campaign mission and then end it. - Exit the game. - Reconnect to the internet. - Restart Halo: The Master Chief Collection. - It may ask if you want to wait for another device to finish syncing or if you would like to sync from the cloud. Choose Sync from the cloud. - You should then be asked which save you would like to keep. Typically you would choose the local save, but if you have another option and don’t mind possibly having to go through these steps again (if it doesn’t resolve your sync issue) then go with the other option.Let me know if these steps help resolve the issue. If not, if you could provide exactly what the error message says word for word that would be a huge help in digging deeper!
So I tried both ways cloud and local and still same issue.
I also tried on a freshly formatted laptop and same issue. This is only happening for MCC not any other halo game on PC.
The error that comes up says "We are unable to sync your data with the cloud at the moment.

Upon a bit more research I’m growing confident this is an issue with the Xbox App. I have a new batch of steps you can try to get this resolved. Let me know how they work out and thanks for pushing through!!
Please note that by completing these steps you may be required to sign-in to your Xbox account again using your password. Please also make sure that MCC is closed while completing these steps.
Reset Xbox App Settings:
- From Windows Desktop go to Start and type “Xbox”. - Search and find the Xbox App (not the console companion app) and right click and select “App settings”. - When the settings page opens up, click on “Terminate”. - Next, Click on “Repair” - Finally click on “Reset”
Reset Xbox Console Companion Settings:
-
From Windows Desktop go to Start and type “Xbox Console Companion”. - Search and find the Xbox Console Companion App and right click and select “App settings”. - When the settings page opens up, Click on “Terminate”. - Next, Click on “Repair” - Finally, click on “Reset”
Reset Xbox Game Bar Settings:
-
From Windows Desktop go to Start and type “Xbox Game Bar”. - Search and find the Xbox Game Bar app and right click and select “App settings”. If you do not have it installed, install it from the Microsoft Store. - When the settings page opens up, Click on “Terminate”. - Next, Click on “Repair” - Finally, click on “Reset”
Check for Microsoft Store Updates:
-
From Windows Desktop go to Start and type “Microsoft Store”. - Launch the Microsoft Store app. - When the Microsoft Store launches, click your profile icon in the top right corner and select your profile. This will bring up a page allowing you to select a different account. Select Sign Out. If you are already signed out, then simply sign back in. - Once signed back in, click the 3 dots on the top right corner and select “Downloads and updates”. - When on the Downloads and updates page, click on the blue box in the top right corner that says “Get updates”. - If your updates do not automatically start updating, or if there are still updates that haven’t started downloading, select “Update all” to ensure all apps are up to date.
Run a Teredo Check:
- From the Windows Desktop go to Start and type “Xbox Networking”.
- Launch this settings page. If you can’t find it in search it can also be found in Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking
- When you launch this page it will do a networking test. Take a note of the results of this test and then select “Check again”. Note any changes. You want NAT Type to say Open and Server connectivity to say Connected. If it does not say this, click “Fit it” and then “Check again”.
- Keep this page open while completing the next step.
At this point let’s launch Halo MCC again and allow the game to sync (it may ask you to sign in first). If it feels like the sync is hanging or taking a while just give it time and try not to press any inputs or go to a different page. Fingers crossed it gets you through. Keep me posted!

Nothing
I even tried being directly connected to the modem and still the same issue, I just don’t get it, it was all working fine, and all of sudden this. I also tried my friend’s account on both my laptop and the newly formatted one with both my internet and phone data and the same issue on both. So it’s not related to my profile only, and its not the internet either, and its not the laptop itself either, so what is it? The xbox syncing works fine buts its only the PC that is having issues.
Can you confirm that you are signed back into the Microsoft Store, Xbox Companion App, Xbox App, all on the same account?

Yes all good
If you open up the Xbox Console Companion and go to Settings > Network and let it do the test what does it show?
Also if you open up Xbox Networking from the troubleshooting steps we did earlier what does that show?

On Xbox networking, it shows Teredo is unable to qualify but when I check again it shows nat is open and all good on the Xbox companion side as well

I’ve had the same issue for just over a week now for both counsel and PC.
Update: MCC no longer gives me an error and I no longer have my profile settings reset every time I launch the game. (Yah) but I still lost all my settings for control and display along with my spartan armor for each game. Hopefully its done having sync errors

What did you do to solve the problem? Or was it automatic - on it’s own?

It was related to the WIndows Insider Built that I was using, they knew about the issue, and fixed it with an update and its been good so far
