Having a new error when playing MCC on PC. Any time I try to play a game, I get a message that “Halo___ DLC is not installed” and asks if I want to install. Either choice I make, it just takes me back to the main menu.
The in-game install manager has all my games installed but they’re greyed out with a padlock on them. I also have all the little 10mb license patches for each game. I’ve tried going a clean install of the game, still getting the error.
Has anyone else encountered this before on MCC for Gamepass PC? I’ve scoured the internet and found no solutions, and of course I submit a support ticket and get a generic “we’re looking into it.”

While have found upgrading to Windows 11 has solved the issue for them, this simpler fix also seems to be working for some.

Xbox Support says it’s a game issue but there hasn’t been an update to the game since the issue started. I first noticed the issue 3 days ago and the only thing I can think of that could have changed something is that I downloaded the Season 8 Flight.
Out of curiosity did you download the flight as well? If you didn’t it would be nice to rule that out as an option because then it would either point to an issue on the backend side of the game or on the Microsoft services.
I am having the same issue and I thought it might be something to do with the junky Microsoft Store. I used MS Store to download the MCC and have come regret using Microsoft Store rather then Steam. Since downloading, I have dealt with many issues over the time I have owned it with things such as DLC download problems or Microsoft Store update issues.
I tried to download the DLC’s manually, and nothing changed, so factory reset my PC and redownloaded the entire Halo MCC. aaand SaMe ReSuLT!!!
Still going in to play Multiplayer and finding all the DLC’s saying they are not downloaded. Even after I successfully manually downloaded each DLC from Microsoft Store, it is still saying the same thing.

No I haven’t downloaded the season 8 flight and I think my problem started around the same time as you, some time earlier this week. That $40 on Steam isn’t looking too bad right about now…

Did you guys buy the MCC off Microsoft Store for PC as well?
Just started having the same issue a few days ago after downloading the season 8 flight.
Trying to play MCC through gamepass for pc, downloaded the flight through steam. I’ve already uninstalled the flight and have tried redownloading the full MCC for pc gamepass multiple times. Still cannot find a way to get it working again.
I have the same issue. I was able to play last weekend now all of a sudden every single game is locked. I have uninstalled and redownloaded so many times but it will not work!
I have the same problem. Redownloading doesn’t fix it.
I also tried wsreset, new login to the Xbox App and Microsoft Store, even a reset of Windows itself, no change.
Not installed and when I want to reinstall the License DLCs I just get an error:

Gamepass pc, didn’t buy it off the store but it gets downloaded through the store/xbox app.
I just said -Yoink- it and got the steam version. Works perfectly, pretty annoying that I had to buy the game a second time though.

Its annoying alright… Oh my gosh… I bought it from MS store originally because I thought it would cool. Microsoft game… Microsoft store… ya know.
Turns out that was a mistake. New app to avoid just added to the list.

Same here, have re downloaded the game 4 times and still shows every game as locked and that the DLC isn’t installed even though ~140gb of space is being taken.

Couldn’t say I’m afraid, I don’t work for 343 and have no way of providing or getting updates about the game or game issues.

Downtime happens sometimes, sucks for sure but issues happen that are sometimes out of even 343’s control. They’ve dropped some season points for previous issues so they may do something similar again.

There are unlikely to be any updates until sometime later tomorrow when the 343 folk are back at work.

I understand this to be an issue more with Microsoft Store than with 343. Everyone so far that has reported in has obtained Halo MCC through the Microsoft Store, whether it be using game pass or purchasing the game directly. I purchased the game when it first came out for PC through the Microsoft Store, and ever since I have dealt with issues relating to updates and season drops. I’ve had to wipe and redownload everything several times. But this is by far the worst of those times.
All of this compared to several games that I have purchased though Steam, that really never have had any problems EVER as far as I can remember.
If you refer back in this thread there’s a guy… He even went and bought the Steam version of the MCC just now and says it works fine. Honestly I am almost ready to do the same. This is the last straw among other straws that has really turned me off the Microsoft Store.

The Flight Sim install being another recent fiasco. They need to revamp their install method were one corrupted locked/encrypted file in WpApps doesn’t blow up entire drives and make them useless for game installs unless you reformat the drive. It’s dumb.

Maybe you should figure out a way to be helpful instead of harmful. Because of this waste of data, I have other titles I won’t be able to update. So essentially, they are wasting both my time and money. Laugh it up, jerk.

Amen…If this was an indie studio i would understand. But from 343 and Microsoft this is unacceptable!!! Wasted hours deleting, reinstalling, and trouble shooting thinking the issue was on my end. Nope. Shameful!
