Hello everyone.
I downloaded MCC via gamepass and I can not get the game to launch. It launches just fine if I select the app with easy anti cheat disabled but this prevents me from playing multiplayer. I get two different error messages when booting up the game.
The first error message is: MCC-Win64-Shipping-WinStore.exe-Application Error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).
After clicking okay, i got a second error message: Easy anti-cheat Untrusted system file (C:/Windows/System32/dbghelp.dll)
I have tried many different things and I just cant get it too launch. My windows 10 is up to date, my nvidia drivers are also up to date, I looked through the files and found the easy anti cheat launcher and reinstalled it for MCC, I have repaired/reset the MCC app, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
Any other tips or direction would be much appreciated. Thanks fellow Spartans.
Do you have any software installed from Microsoft that has debugging built in? Perhaps some coding software or similar?
You may also wish to run the anti-cheat repair tool.

I dont believe so. I mean I might but not to my knowledge.

I believe I did this already. I opened up easy anti cheat in the folder and ran the repair process for MCC. Still no luck.
Most games rely on supporting software provided by the operating system, such as the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package. Try reinstalling this software to make sure it functions correctly. Have a look in your installed programs to see which ones you have. Generally also most game installs have the redist packages in their folder structure somewhere. Run them as repairs.
I would also run an SFC /scannow on the computer, as you may have a corrupted Windows install.

I have multiple years of Microsoft Visual C ++. I repaired all the options available.
I did not see a redist package in the MCC folder, maybe because it is from gamepass.
I am not sure how to do the sfc/scannow but I will google that on my own.
Thanks for the tips but I wish this wasnt so difficult to play halo. All my other games are running smoothly.
I don’t think this is a problem with Halo, in all honesty. I think you may have an issue with the operating system.
You need to run the command “sfc /scannow” in a command prompt or powershell prompt, run as an administrator.

You’re very welcome.
I work in IT for a living, so figured this sounded suspect.
what it said for me is
Invalid game executable: C:program
Files\WindowsApps\Mutavle\Microsoft.Chelan_1.2094.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\MCC\Binaries\Wi
64\MCC-Win64-Shipping-WinStore.exe.
I was also running into an issue where the game would close but the audio was infinitely on and even the task manager said the game was closed but the audio was still running so I turned off the computer and turned it on and then I go the launch Error.
I have the same issue but I’ve done all the steps you all suggested and it still does not work. I also noticed I have two options for MCC and I have no idea why since I only have it for Windows 10.
Just when Im asking around and putting in a ticket to support, I figured out I cant launch it from Microsoft Store but I can from the programs listed from clicking the Start button on the desktop.

I don’t think that suddenly problems arise even in the OS from Italy, the real problem is precisely the MCC application

Some people it’s not even affecting or they aren’t saying anything about it. Some streamers are playing tonight and I’m guessing their game launches fine ?
Same thing is happening to me, that fix did not help me. I do not know what to do. If someone knows a fix please let me know.

Si no puedes iniciar sólo abre el modo anticheat disabled desde la barra de windows, una vez adrentro cierralo y abre el normal
IF you cant launch it, just open the anticheat disabled version from the windows bar, then close it and launch the normal one

Don’t do this apparently it still runs the anti cheat version. No one should play the game if the anti cheat isn’t fully functional. Coming from someone who has been experiencing serious issues I HIGHLY recommend not playing until it’s fixed. Tried again this evening and error persists.

I launched the anti-cheat disabled one(which isnt bad, its just so you can play around with mods) and then opened the normal version and it booted right up no errors. Hope this works for everyone else thats having this issue.
Hey all, I had this issue and an open ticket with 343. While working with them, I updated the Gaming Services app to version 2.50.5005.0 and rebooted. Fingers crossed but it seems like it’s launching normally now! To update your Gaming Services, open the Microsoft Store > select More (the three dots) > Downloads and updates > Get updates. It will check for any updates needed and update your Gaming Services app if it’s out of date. Hopefully this helps someone.
