MCC PC: Contacting Server Forever

When trying to play any game mode, is says. Contacting server to get the latest matchmaking data, please wait.

Well I waited, then I restarted mcc, that did nothing. So I closed steam and tried again, that didn’t work. I restarted my computer that also didn’t work. I then restarted my router and guess what, that didn’t work either.

I guess my only option now, is to verify the game files. Then if that doesn’t help, reinstall and see if that does.

I tried it and it didn’t work. I’m getting the same issue where the Season shows Offline.

Sign out of your Xbox Live profile. Click the player icon at the top right, click your nameplate, then click change profile. Sign back in, and that should fix it. That worked for me.

It worked, I never even thought about singing out. Thanks for sharing the solution. Hopefully others having the same issue, see your post.

Had the same issue just now and did the sign in/sign out. Fixed it, thanks for the heads up.

hi got mine from the microsoft store and i still have the same issue nothing i have tried seemed to work

This doesn’t work, everything I tried has not worked since release, this is total bull, I want them to fix it now but 343 and XGS is too busy make ugly sweater nameplates when they have thousands of players who havent played multiplayer since the pc version released.

Are you sure you actually signed out of XBL and not out of Steam or something? Because this definitely worked for myself and several other people.

Thank you man, you are a savior. They still have this issue up to this date.

Logging out and back in isn’t working for me. Any other ideas?

Contacting server for 10 hours, nothing is working to get into a game, an absolute disgrace, seriously pissed off

Thanks heaps, signing out and then back into my account fixed the problem. Glad it was that easy.

This worked but then my game crashed and now it won’t work whatsoever. Thanks 343.

Sign out has worked for me a few times but I am loosing my mind after 2 weeks of this.

I had a Windows Update that appeared to have broken mine to the point Game Bar wouldn’t show users on the 15th.
Re-imaged Windows and worked until today, was working earlier today and now after Windows Defender Definition updated, I suddenly can’t connect again. Though the in-game friends list shows online players and I can join them.
Joining them prevents them from launching matchmaking too.
The XBOX app Network Diagnostic shows 70ms ping, 0% Packet loss; It will initially say NAT Blocked then re-running shows NAT Open.
Windows Firewall is off and I set my PC to DMZ on the router. Seems like this is a buggy -Yoink!- network issue…

ElDewrito never had these issues

signing out then back in also helped me thx

DO NOT SIGN OUT.

I did this and was unable to sign back in!

It is a server problem on Microsoft’s side. You will need to wait it out. If you sign out you will also be unable to play the game at all until the problem is fixed.

I recommend passing the time by leaving a review on Steam or wherever you purchased the game informing them what you think of the current state of the game.

I’m glad I could help so many people with this, but I’m also disturbed that this is still something people are needing to do more than four months after the game’s release.
