I’m not sure why, but my game has never prompted me to download the new update. When i went into matchmaking last night twice it gave me a downloading latest data screen for a second and then connected me to one game but nothing after that. I wasn’t sure what to do so I re-installed the game last night, and it just finished downloading the launch patch that you need to get into matchmaking, now what i’m wondering is did it just auto download the new update with this old one, or what’s going on? Matchmaking was not working well for me this morning and it seems like a lot of people who have downloaded the update are at least getting better solo search times which I have not found. Any idea what I could do to help me get this update? I have power cycled my xbox several times as well. Should i just assume it downloaded with the other update this morning? Any help from 343i or community would be much appreciated. My area is central Indiana if that makes a difference at all.
I’m in southern California and I’ve had the same exact problem and have been curious too. There’s no way to verify whether it’s been installed or not and I’ve never received a prompt to do so.

i got a message of the day update saying the Patch will be available today BUT STILL no prompt at all… this is freakin ridiculous

i haven’t received the 11/26 update. is there a way to force download it? maybe uninstall the game but would it take forever to re-install?
Yeah seriously me too. This is rediculous. I miss bungie…first of all…horrible ui, lots of bugs, crashes, It won’t prompt for update. I can’t even go to the main app to SEE if version is current. I don’t know why they took out juggernaut for h4…my favorite game mode. I love the idea of mcc but the execution was executed very poorly. The only thing I think is flawless is the new halo 2 cutscenes.
I didnt get the update yet either and I have restarted every time since the release of the update.
I haven’t seen any prompts either… I’ve deleted the game and reinstalled it too but still no prompt to download the CU and no matchmaking improvement either…
A friend of mine got the update and called me and said it’s great… get on. Did so, no update for me though. No prompt at all for update. I did get a message saying that since nov. 26th a new update has come out with improvements, but after telling me about the update it didn’t allow me to get it? just sent me to the site for a change log. Very frustrating because there is no force update or anything and people said uninstall/reinstalling didn’t even work so I won’t go through that nightmare myself. Fix this -Yoinking!- game 343 -Yoinks!-.
The Xbone will download the update in the background, you don’t have to launch MCC and get a prompt to update it. In my experience you only really get a prompt if you’ve had your Xbone completely powered off or if you launch the game within a couple hours of the update coming out. If it gives you the option of going into matchmaking, you have the update. It absolutely will not let you in matchmaking if the update has not been downloaded.
The 343 message about the new update said “the next time players login they will be PROMPTED to download the patch” yet I never was prompted either. I have been wondering all this time if I even have the update. Apparently is does get downloaded automatically. Fine.
My big issue, and the reason I have not tried playing multiplayer until I see it fixed, is that I cannot save my controller settings. I set it to Halo 4 settings and chose the option to use this schema for all game types, but it resets to Halo CE controls when I exit out of settings. Is anyone else having this problem???
I am so used to Halo 4 controls that I don’t want to try to re-learn any other schema…especially if this issue will be fixed in the future.

The X1 downloads updates automatically even when in standby unless you set it not to. You won’t get the old 360 “Update required” screen most times.
