I love Halo games as much as anyone in here. When MCC first came out, I was actually 1st in line at my local GameStop. The thrill of playing the 1st 4 Halo games on my Xbox one was exciting especially now that they were on one disc. Little did I know that it had a day one download of 20gb. That took me all day because I only have Version 3mb which is all that is offered in my area. It was worth it or at least I thought till I found out that matchmaking was broke. (For almost a month).
I played all the campaigns with my loving wife for the month and was excited when matchmaking finally began working. Then that’s when it started, the constant update downloads. Needless to say it got old fast so we decided to take MCC off our hard drive and save space. We’d play offline on MCC if we wanted, no big deal or at least I thought till we attended a buddy of mines funeral. The buddy was the first to get me hooked on the Halo Universe and I am forever grateful that he did.
The funeral was rather emotional for most of us as we all shared stories of our time with him. Talking with a few other friends of mine there that also play Halo games, I got the idea to have a Halo night like we used to back in the day but this time it would be in memory of our friend. My wife was all for it and suggested she’ll take the kids with her to her parents house for a few hours while we play (yeah, she’s awesome like that). My buddies would bring some snacks and their controllers. Here’s where the insanity begins.
I started redownloading MCC so we can play the original maps online last night. It wasn’t untill this morning that i realized that with all the updates to fix a mistake on 343s part that it is now a 73.4 GB download update just to play. That’s ridiculous to say the least but it is what it is and it’s for my buddy Jordan’s memory so I’m doing regardless of my thoughts about it. At the rate it’s downloading, it should be done by Friday afternoon. I just hope it doesn’t burn up my Xbox one by being on that long.
If all goes right, my friends and I will be on MCC this Saturday March 9th, 2019 from 6pm EST till at least 9pm EST if anyone wants to join us in doing an MCC matchmaking run in memory of our departed friend. You’re more than welcome.
