Since the update the other day, I have not been able to access MCC. Originally, the update got stuck at 20%. Afyter trying for a day to get it to move, i finally gave up, deleted the game, and tried to reinstall. Now, after speaking to 4 Microsoft agents, and restoring my console 2 times, I can still not access the game. It just downloads to 20%, and alternates between “Ready to play” and “Queued”. Has anyone else had this problem? Digital download. No bandwidth issues, OPEN Nat. `27Mbit DL. The problem is not on my end. it is an MCC glitch. So frustrated.
I am having the same issue, Xbox Support directed me to post here. To be clear, I have a digital version of MCC.
Here’s what I’ve attempting so far to fix this issue:
- Hard reset and unplug console
- Clear persistent storage and alternate MAC address
- Deleted and re-added Gamertag
- Uninstalled game
- Tried to re-install on external drive
- Tried to re-install on internal drive
ODST and the Boom Boom skull both download and install fine. MCC gives up after approximately a minute. Unlike other download options I do not have an option to Pause or Cancel the installation, just to re-try in the Queue section of My Games and Apps.
Hoping you can resolve this ASAP as the game is not playable. This is not exactly filling me with confidence that a digital version of Halo 5 is the way to go…
I’m having the same problem but with disc version. Spoken to Microsoft and they haven’t helped. Tried to install on two other Xboxes with my copy and it keeps stopping the installation/update. Done the reset and wipe. Really annoyed at this happening.
I’m also experiencing this issue.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalled (which is failing), multiple hard resets and physically disconnecting the power cable, removing and re-adding my Live profile to my X1 and most recently restoring my X1 to factory defaults.

It’s pretty ridiculous that they know this most recent update has been causing so many problems, and yet they tell us to go somewhere else to post about it. I love Halo, it’s always been my favourite story of any game, but I’m worried that I won’t even get to play H5 because of issues like this.

Yep, same here mate. No solution, just a game I can’t play. Very disappointing.
