MCC latest puts Infinite to shame

MCC’s latest update is like a big tornado and then there’s Season 2 that just a fart in the wind.

LOTS OF Bug fixes, modes, server browser updates, the MCC team is absolutely killing it.

If only Finite could do the same.

No it doesn’t. MCC hasn’t have an Update in MONTHS. That was the minimum to keep the game “alive”

Yes it does in every way! MCCs one update adds hours of new content and replayability to MCC. Halo 4 has NEVER been so good before! Infinite needs 10 updates like this to stand a chance long term.

Melees and spawns are still broken in in H2 and 3. Sound is bad in H2 still. And we need veto back to filter out these garbage sandbox maps.

To be fair what was “added” was meant to be added a while back and with the last (both chronologically and then officially) official update it seemed like it was never going to happen.

Flood Firefight was really the only new thing added that wasn’t foreshadowed. The browser update is a few updates late. And there’s still a short list of things that may never make it in.

The real question is whether MCC is going to be updated moving forward as this update was technically not meant to happen in the first place.

Infinite absolutely needs to have a faster turnaround, but let’s not forget that some of the biggest controversial points have been addressed in some capacity.

‘but it took months to get the mcc update out, this doesn’t prove anything’
nah nah nah… mcc says something. the mcc dev team is SMALL. infact, if i recall right, most of the team was moved over to infinite, so the length it took has an excuse. before infinite, mcc was getting consistantly decent-good seasons. infinite, having the main team, mcc team, and even the hw2 team and yet still taking as long and diliveres so little so far. just saying -v-

All I’ve seen is “were aware” then silence, then nothing on it for months, on big issues. Or they give a big non answer and tell everyone to pound sand.

Well what do you consider:

  • challenge system rework
  • XP earning rework
  • playlist updates
  • monetization price reductions
  • event unlock redistribution/additions
  • event extensions
  • BTB fix, BTB fix fix, BTB fix fix fix
  • Geofiltering/cheating fixes

All of which have been relatively hot button issues at one point or another.

I love that Halo MCC update I got yesterday! Halo 2/2A/Halo 4 now in the Custom Browser! YEA BUDDY!! It bring’s back the Good Old Days Of Halo! :joy:

Should’ve been done 4 months ago, or as a one week patch.

I mean the CGB was stated to have been playable “within months” in April 2018, then again in February 2019, then stated in July 2020 that it was supposed to be out later that same year, then in September 2020 it was rolling out game by game starting by the end of that year, it officially went live in June 2021 with Reach (38 months since the initial announcement), then added CE/3 in October 2021 (4 months after Reach, 42 months since the initial announcement) and as the official final seasonal update for MCC (suggesting this latest update, and the additional games for the CGB was never going to happen), only to find out that in April 2022 the CGB is completed with a surprise update (6 months after CE/3, 48 months since the initial announcement).

Some of these changes in Infinite did happen 4 months ago, some of it happened 6 months ago, some of it happened within that 4-6 month period. There are a ton of issues plaguing Halo Infinite’s continual development, and it would be great to get the majority of them knocked down and hammered out in a timely manner, but to ignore MCC’s own troubled past (and example of 343i’s 3.5-4 year promise of “soon” in regards to the CGB) is kinda disproportionate.

Unfortunately these things take way more time than players should be comfortable with waiting, but they are happening. If you’re content with content that’s about 3.5-4 years late, can’t the same thing be said about a game that’s less than a year old?

Nothing really traditional about a CGB tho my guy, back in my day it was all about inviting friends of friends for a night of Forge maps and Custom Games :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You kids have it soooo easy

Oh well PC ports don’t count my guy, only the OG Xbox experience counts Dontcha know?

(Saying this as someone who exclusively played untold countless rounds of LAN/Browser Blood Gulch and Silent Cartographer games on the CE demo…)

Wowee they copied and pasted flood from h3 into odst

Best update ever!

Halo Infinite take notes

PC version took 2 years to port over. I say this because '01 Xbox version did not have game browsers and the PC port came out in '03. I still think most games today could have game browsers if the developer wanted to.

Do you actually think flood firefight is substantial content?

The replayability of MCC is insane.
You got all the campaigns, you can challenge yourself to complete them in LASO, mission replayability, spartan ops, firefight, infection, lots of gamemodes, lots of iconic maps, different gameplay mechanics depending on which MP you choose to play, ability to choose what Halo game and gamemode you want to play when searching, color customization, emblem customization, lots of new content, free seasonal pass without challenge swaps and xp boost.
MCC is the best Halo experience right now, personally.
