Hey there fellow spartans… I’m wondering if anyone else is having similar issues to what Im having… But essentially, MCC is unplayable for now… ever since I’ve tried playing it with the season 4 or 5 update. And it’ll be for any number of reasons and I can’t really pinpoint what the exact problem is. First off… if I can get the game to load and try to do a firefight or spartan ops… it literally takes about 20 minutes for it to load. The load bar will go all the way across and “finish”… then be stuck on that screen for an eternity. If I do get one to load… the audio is off what is displayed on screen (and now as I’m typing, my spartan ops mission has frozen). When I try to load the game, a lot of the times it’ll tell me it’s taken too long to start, force quit and take me back to the xbox home screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice in the last 3 months now (which is a monumental pain in the -Yoink- since it’s so large). Sometimes it’ll tell me something is corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled (which is what happened this past time). It took me a day and a half to finish the install. A few people have told me it’s because I’m running an OG xbox one (Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare edition from 2014) from pretty much the same time the game came out. If that’s the case… I’m extremely disappointed that now 343 has made the game unplayable. I like what they’ve done with the updates… looks great and all… but it’s unplayable. If you’re going to be putting a game out… you should probably make sure it works on all consoles… I’m not going to fork over money for a One X while I’m trying to get my hands on a series X for Infinite… that’s just stupid. Even before my current issues, it would take a solid 5-10 to load an arena match… and now… can’t even get any match… Another problem I’ve now noticed… if you read the blogs, they’ve introduced nameplates that you can earn simply by logging in during the specified time frame. I logged in on April 24th for the Hog Wile and I’m still waiting for it. I’ve been logged into MCC for the past two days and still haven’t received the Pride one yet either… it’s getting to the point of frustration… any ideas or suggestions?? I’d hate to not be able to play the game anymore because my system is obselete when trying to play a game that came out the same time my console did…

In which HDD you installed the game (external or internal)?
Because it is better to install it on the internal HDD.
I am playing from an OG xbox one, only the 500 gig model as well, as my Xbox one x crapped out awhile back. The game should work from it. I would suggest this, uninstalled the game. Then do a hard reset to be sure no other programs or anything is running. Then using a wired connection redownload/install the game being sure not to do anything else until every thing down loads and completely installs. Then for good measure another hard reset and relaunch the game. Hopefully this helps, if it doesn’t work you could have a corrupt hard drive or something which sucks as it’s best usually to just by a new system or you have to replace the hard drive.

Yes I have an external HDD… not sure where it’s installed (I’ll have to look). If I continue having issues and have to run through this again (don’t want to waste time missing out on other games going through this again), is there an easy way to tell it where to install it? A long time ago when I first got the external hard drive, I think a screen popped up that gave me those options, but it’s been years and not sure where to find it again.

I did do a hard reset once it finished… that didn’t seem to do anything. I tried a couple different things while in MCC as a trial and error to see what works and what doesn’t. The mission of spartan ops I selected froze to the point where I had to restart the game. I started a level of Halo Reach, and that seemed just fine, but a mission of Halo CEA wouldn’t even load up. Tried a MM Reach Firefight and that worked out ok… some minor lag issues, but I finished the match alright and no real issues. Unfortunately with my apartment set up the way it is… hard wire connection to the router would be tough to do, unless I got a roughly 30ft ethernet cable (don’t have one that long)… but I made sure not to run anything else (tried to play a mission of whatever had installed but ran into issues). Other people told it was an because I was running an OG xbox but didn’t quite believe them. At least now I have some things to try if it continues to be an issue… I just hate having to waste gaming time going through this everytime I run into issues… it’s almost more hassle than it’s worth…
Fun update… I figured out how to transfer games from one storage device to the other, but apparently in doing so… I somehow erased MCC from both, so now I have to install it again… Which, since I work tomorrow, I’ll start it tonight when I finish playing Halo 5 and go to bed, and let it do it’s thing all day tomorrow since I’ll be at work and have errands to run afterwards. In theory, it should be done by the time I get home and it’ll be uninterrupted until I get home from work tomorrow afternoon.
The only other thought I had… and maybe someone can help me wrap my head around this too. Would it be at all helpful (or at the very least help with my frustrations) if I did something with my saved game data?? I’m a little nervous doing something about that because I don’t want to have to start from scratch and lose everything… but I’m wondering if since it’s such old data (I’ve been playing MCC since release), combined with all the updates and other issues I’ve been having and what not, if maybe deleting my data locally might help as well?? That’s the only other thing I can think of that might be helpful…
