Ever since MCC has gotten a few recent updates I noticed that the render distance on some campaign missions and multiplayer doesn’t seem as good as it was when MCC was originally enhanced for the One X. I remember feeling impressed but now I’m feeling like I’m using my VCR Xbox one to play MCC which wasn’t fun. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?
I noticed the same thing, particularly whilst I was in the middle of completing my H3 legendary speedruns a couple months ago. This was on a high-end gaming PC too.
Added to that, the framerate drops to half in some instances in HCEA and H2A
Performance has been awful since reach was added across anniversary campaigns.
Same here. Pretty much since the XSX & XSS release?
Not sure exactly when it happened across the collection but the last patch made Halo 3 performance horrible in MP on the One X. Most H3 weapons seem to have hit registration problems again, at least on the One X, but I doubt the H3 multiplayer problems are One X specific.

Yeah since the Series X optimization release I’m sure the gameplay mechanics are the same across all consoles but the one x enhancements no longer feel the same anymore.

Second this. A lot of us have been clamoring for at least an acknowledgement about this downgrade, but 343i has been disappointingly quiet about the topic.
Stealth changes like this make it impossible to have a forum with the fans to fix these games. There’s no clearly articulated baseline, nor list of changes to give informed feedback and bug reports
There are videos online of series s\x gameplay at 120fps and it dips to 60 in the same spots we get dips on the one x so there is definitely something wrong under the hood. Just less noticeable on the new machines as a drop to 60 is better a drop to the 30’s. Lots of trolling feedback that the new machines can’t sustain 120 with severe drops to FPS
Sadness this is still a thing
Season 6 update hasn’t improved anything. Has anyone had any responses to support tickets?
Been noticing downgrades as far back as when Reach was added.
I’ve noticed the render distance is off as well.
Was in Forge the other day, I flew up to look at what I had just built, and they were all just plain, one colored blobs. I only flew up some 25 meters into the air.

Yeah that’s one way to fix frame dips. Maybe season 7 will introduce a “new” permanent low-res mode (that is obviously not mentioned in the patch notes)…
Can I please urge everyone to at least report it as a bug WITH FOOTAGE! As this will really help the team at 343.
If you’re on pc, be sure to include your specs, just in case your pc isn’t powerful enough.
I’m on a standard one S but I’ve never seen issues this bad.
Sad reality, the games definitely gotten bigger with its most recent update might be time to upgrade if its a problem for everyone.

^ This is it, maybe if it is an update they could clarify that it was done to prevent vram usage or fixing frame dips and other bugs.
I’m sure there is good reason for it and well eventually support will come back around for the legacy consoles.

I hope so too matey. It would be sad when 343 moves over to Infinite and MCC is put on sustain/lifesupport mode and these performance issues still exist.

Already did that a year ago
Tickets are closed but not fixed and I’m sure that the two coop crashes in Halo 2 (The Great Journey and The Heretic) are still present; although I haven’t checked these two since the new patch as of yesterday but there has been nothing in the patch notes and the crashes are severe (i.e. back to main menu or even Xbox OS).
There have been several threads regarding coop crashes and FPS drops since the Reach update was released. Pretty sure, they are aware of it.

I don’t know if this is really specific to the One X, seems like the Series X has issues too. My mind is blown that this hasn’t even been acknowledged.
