MCC Community Playlist Map Submissions Closed 8/9

Hey Friends,

The community of the Halo Universe is one of the most passionate and creative groups of people I have been fortunate to work with. We really want to showcase the creativity of the community in our upcoming MCC update and we need your help. in doing so. We are working on putting together a new Community Playlist for MCC (to go live following the update) and we want it to feature 100% community made maps. Please share your knowledge and tell us what some of your favorite MCC community-created Forge maps are!

The first three maps for this playlist are going to be the three winners of ForgeHub’s Halo 2 Anniversary ForgeTacular event “Select” by SecretSchnitzel and runNOKYARDrun, “Epic” by Xandrith and a Chunk, and “Heatstroke” by Kell of Scots.

We need the community’s help finding at least seven additional maps for this playlist – and we’re specifically looking for Halo 3 and Halo 4 creations.

If you want to submit a map for this playlist, please leave the following information in this thread so we can check it out and add it our list for evaluation.

To submit an MCC Forge map for consideration, please provide the following information:
Map Name:
Author(s):
Map Description: 1-3 sentences describing your map
Screenshot: Waypoint, XboxDVR, or Imgur link
Player who has the map on their fileshare.
(Optional) Video: Waypoint, XboxDVR, or YouTube link
(Optional) Community Site Thread: ForgeHub or GrifballHub link
We will leave this thread open for submissions until we’ve filled out the playlist and we’ll update it along the way as maps are officially reviewed and locked. Stay tuned for details on dates and times to join us for online to help playtest these maps.
Cheers,
Postums

Postums,

There are so many great maps made on the original titles of each of these games. It was deeply troubling to me when MCC launched and we didn’t have access to a file browser for maps made in those titles. Why was this never a thing? I assume there was likely some sort of logistical clusterblam of data that was too much to process at the time. Is a feature like this out of the realm of reality for it to become one?
Perfect example of this is a map from Halo 3 that I loved:

Map Name: Vertex NG
Author(s): Nathon Green
Map Description: Concrete jungle with platforms on Foundry. Compatible with all modes.
Waypoint File Browser link: https://halo.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=22061558
Video: Vertex NG

This map has 17,000 downloads! Playing crazy king on this map was an absolute blast, as it utilized a lot of verticality we didn’t really see at the time. I’d love to see this one ported over from H3. I can’t find the original Halo 3 Forges video from machinima, looks like the whole series was removed from youtube. Sad!

Hey General Trex,

Currently, we are looking for maps that were built in MCC and not the original versions of the games for this.

Thank you,
Postums

Can’t wait to see some Halo 3 creations! It really juiced up the game when we had player made maps!

Aw man what about H2A? I got some nice stuff.

Is there a deadline?

Map Name: The Battlefield
Gametype: The Smashing
Author(s): SoleSix89506272
Map Description: Players spawn with random weapons, Move at 125% speed, and Have 50% the gravity. The goal is to simply get the most kills in a 3 minute time limit, the number of rounds do not matter. Weapons spawn on the map, so if you spawn with less than desirable weapons you can try to grab better ones from fallen players or ones that normally spawn. Players can also die from falling off the ledge.

(Optional) Video: - YouTube

i guess no halo custom edition or halo 2 vista maps ?

Map Name: Sea of Thieves (or “The Seven Seas” - still a WIP name)

Author(s): Faulk Smash

Map Description: There are 8 territories (not final #) on the entire map, two of which are made up of each team’s (RvB) ship (Elephant) - which are dynamic as each ship is always moving, for the most part anyways - and the other 6, static, “major landmarks” are around the map. Each team sails around the map on their ships capturing the landmarks, equipped with Energy Swords (Primary) and Magnums (Secondary - acting as flint lock pistols), and vehicles (2 Mongooses on each Elephant, 4 scattered across the map for pirates stuck at sea | 4 Prowlers, also scattered across the sea | 2 Wraiths, one on each of Sandtrap’s large towers acting as cannon mortars, and are stationary… but can be dislodged with some wiggling) at their disposal for traversing the sea, which if you’re in, your movement speed is decreased (like you’re fighting the sea’s tretchorous waves) and your shields slowly decrease (you’re also fighting sharks… because imagination). The objective is to capture all 8 landmarks (including the enemy’s ship) for ultimate sea domination.

That was 3 sentences, right?

Screenshot: Will include later. Hoping to get some gameplay pics.

Waypoint File Browser link: It’s MCC, there isn’t a link.

Video: Will edit.

Community Site Thread: Will make a FH post and edit it in soon.

Additional Info: This map has been made for at least 3 years, with renditions to it that I’d rather not speak about (I had to make the map twice… for glitch reasons) and when played in full custom lobbies, people enjoy it and often want to replay it the same night. The things that need to be fine tuned are spawning (you need to know all the fine details of the spawning system, which I know a lot about, but not at a developer knowledge standpoint), the amount of territories (8 has proved to be too many, but I’m stubborn and want to make it work), and gametype settings like damage output for being in a territory vs being stranded at sea (not in a territory), as well as movement speed jump height, etc. Quite a bit of fine tuning needs to be done. Mostly gametype wise and spawning, as the map is complete. Removal of territories is always an option too…

(Also in b4 Evader submits Engage lolol)

Map Name: Engage
Author(s): EvadeR
Map Description: MLG Map. Mashup of Onslaught, Lockdown, and Amplified to be played with TS, CTF, Ball

Bring Halo: Reach campaign and/or fan-favorite multiplayer playlists and/or firefight to The Master Chief Collection, please?

Do the Halo 3 creations have to be on Sandbox? Additionally, should we list intended gametypes for the map?

Map Name: The Lost Sea Paradise.
Author: me (GeneralSnow2003). I almost got some help from ZetaBlaze.
Game: Halo 2 Anniversary. Although you’re looking for H3 and H4 maps, I hope you consider it.

Map description: the map features a big island full of natural places. There are two simple but environtment like bases that simulate a camping place, aswell as a lake, trees, rocks that offer hidden places and two high cliffs, which you can use in your bennefit by going up with the elevator. But that’s not all, there are also three more islands connected with the main one by bridges (two smaller ones in one side and one bigger one in the other side) waiting for players to explore them, where you’ll find vehicles, boats, turrets… and more. As many of you might are guessing, yes, you can travel through water to move between islands too! Stones are your cover in the sea. The scenary has some man cannons and teleporters, aswell as flying vehicles, ghosts, warthogs and mongosses (some of them replaced by gungosses), and many weapons along the scenary. Powerups are hidden more or less depending of the type (Speed Boost < Overshield < Active Camo).

Screenshots: Imgur: The magic of the Internet (older than the current map, because I’ve improved it after the screenshots).

File: I’ve shared it in the MCC game. It’s in my account (GeneralSnow2003).

Technical information:
--------------------------------------
* Number of players: the map needs at least 8-10 players, due to its size, but it works optimal with 12-16 players (BTB settings).
* Starting weapon: I highly recommend SMG/PR/MAGNUM starts (because dual-wuelding, tactic and map exploring is very important for this map) for all supported gametypes.
* Allowed gametypes: it supports Slayer, CTF, King of the Hill and Oddball. It is played very differently depending on the gamemode, although I recommend to play CTF or Slayer. King of the Hill was a cool addition because it forces players to explore and discover the map joining the adventure. Oddball and even CTF are good for that purpouse too.

I really hope you take a look at it and maybe add it to the playlist; I’ve worked in the scenary a lot.

How do I get the Waypoint link??

Map Name: Fallout
Author(s): Im A Bad 5 Star
Map Description: A map that can be used for Team slayer or CTF games. Recommended 8-10 players.

The map is on “Im A Bad 5 Star” ‘s file share on MCC INSIDER, not MCC.

I updated my post, now it has screenshots of the map.

Can you provide the gamertag that has the map on their file share?
